falah,
Quote:
But would the fire of Hell hurt your knees more? (The fires of Hell are 70 times greater than the fire of Earth)

The punishment of Hell continues forever:

“Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses (Quran) – We will drive them into a Fire.  Every time their skins are roasted through We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment.  Indeed, God is ever Exalted in Might and Wise.” (Quran an-nisaa' v. 56)

note that nerve ending are in the upper layers of skin. This skin will be constantly replaced so Hell's inhabitants will feel the pain of burning forever.

Falah - you're a sick puppy.
You actually believe bible & koran fairy tales.
You need de-programming.

and what fairytales do you believe in? That the world created itself?

It's even harder to believe that a man with a beard did it - sorry.  Grin

The idea of God being man-like is a Christian fabrication.

Quote:
The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you mates from yourselves, and for the cattle (also) mates. By this means He creates you (in the wombs). There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.
[Quran, ash-Shura, v.11]

Quote:
Say: "God, He is One.
God is the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need.
He begets not, nor was He begotten;
And there is nothing comparable unto Him."
[Quran, al-Ikhlas, v.11]

All the reward afterlifes in religions have things I don't even want. I mean nothing that offends you? That is insane, it is human nature to find things to offensive. Your lord rewards your coping with human nature by stripping it away from you, might as well say everyone gets free lobotomies.

Humans aren't built for this crazy crap, better to live forever at least we a made for life on Earth. If death is inevitable it is better to face utter oblivion, it does not discriminate.

Nothing you want?

Therein you shall have (all) that your inner‑selves desire, and therein you shall have (all) for which you ask. An entertainment from (God), the Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful”
[The Quran, Fussilat v. 31-32]

It's an accurate representation of a lot of pious people I know.

My husband's niece is pious. Her husband has just decided he wants to take another wife. She's absolutely gutted. It's his right, isn't it?

One of my friends has a pious mother. The pious father took off and left the family for a couple of years to hang out with a much less religious Muslim woman. When he wanted to come home, her sons put so much pressure on her to accept him back in, that she did and now she is miserable. She had to endure all the bitching and snide remarks from all he other pious women that pretended to be horrified but were secretly feeling superior in the knowledge that their own husbands would never, ever do such a thing.

And on, and on, and on - ad nauseam.

Why is it that for Muslims, a woman's 'goodness' relies on her patience? That's what I'm seeing when I look around me. The more a woman suffers or sacrifices for her man in the name of her God, the more worthy she is.

And that's bullshit.

I can cite for you cases where the shoe is on the other foot, the fact is there are people of both sexes who mistreat their spouses.

As for patience being a virtue, it is a virtue for all believers, not just women. A man's goodness relies upon him being patient too.

Do you really not see a difference between the expectation of Muslims (not God) with regards to women and patience and men and patience?

Ain't that just marvelous?  A man who has all the economic and social power and the 'I divorce you' three times at his disposal is now in the same boat as his wife who is half of him as an opening gambit when itr comes to any kind of disagreement.

You bearded monsters have not twigged onto human dignity. as such, have you? It is still male and female dignity. A woman must cover up while the bearded numpties can strut around with the abundant facial hair exposed to the disgust of all passers by. As a for example of  very galling type.

A dishonourable Muslim male can get away with being dishonourable MUCH, MUCH easier than a dishonourable Muslim female.

Address that.

And yes, there are cases where the shoe is on the other foot, as you say. I'm talking more about how women are expected to make du'a and put up with it.

As are men in certain circumstances too.

Amongst some individuals, yes. Do you have unrealistic expectations than anything will ever be 100% as it is "supposed to be"?

In Australian society, theoretically women are supposed to be "equals" and can't be abused and looked down upon as "sex on two legs", but do you honestly think the reality lives up to this?

You will always have individuals who do not live up to ideals. You need to take that up with those individuals, not with the ideals.

Atheists dont believe in anything in particular. They are all different. Some may believe in something while others dont. Atheists arent a group. Its just a label the religions have given non-believers.

I am not talking about Islam. I am talking about Muslims. Ahadith. Patriarchal, misogynistic interpretation.
