She had to endure all the bitching and snide remarks from all he other pious women that pretended to be horrified but were secretly feeling superior in the knowledge that their own husbands would never, ever do such a thing.

And on, and on, and on - ad nauseam.

Why is it that for Muslims, a woman's 'goodness' relies on her patience? That's what I'm seeing when I look around me. The more a woman suffers or sacrifices for her man in the name of her God, the more worthy she is.

And that's bullshit.

The punishment of Hell continues forever:

“Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses (Quran) – We will drive them into a Fire. Every time their skins are roasted through We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. Indeed, God is ever Exalted in Might and Wise.” (Quran an-nisaa' v. 56)

note that nerve ending are in the upper layers of skin. This skin will be constantly replaced so Hell's inhabitants will feel the pain of burning forever.
