Pell is laughing. Just another Pedo hunt against priests by a Media trying to hide all their own Pedos and Rapists out there.

Would have been a smorgesboard of little boy bums to be feasted upon by Clergy back in the day.
But as Gay sex is now 'ok' and socially acceptable.
The Priests did nothing wrong in the end.

Yet, on the assumption that the complainant was a witness to truth, both boys were sitting on a gold-mine.

They had the most explosive media story imaginable one, incidentally, that would quite excuse a sorry life.

They would have been aware of the sexual abuse crisis in which Pell was engulfed and how timely their tale was.

How could they not speak about what happened, if only to discuss going public or whether the other was thinking of going public?

But as it was, the one boy denied abuse at a time when the only other witness who could contradict him was alive, while the other boy affirmed it when the only other witness was conveniently dead

The complainant initially asserted that the two incidents occurred within a few months of each other in 1996.

It transpired that the first time Pell said mass at St Patrick’s was 15 December, rendering this timeline impossible.

The prosecution then changed its story, stating that the first incident occurred in 1996 and the second in February 1997

For all the difficulties ... I think a jury system where 12 people good and true sit for days hearing evidence and come to a conclusion about guilt or innocence is the best system.

To have a small number of 'overpaid bookworms' overturn the verdict is, in my opinion, a bad result.  Sad

Look at the other side of that same coin.  How could 12 people good and true come to the guilty decision beyond a reasonable doubt given the totality of the evidence, including what has been described as 'opportunity' evidence?  My conclusion is that inadvertently, they allowed a bias against the Institution (which is obviously guilty) to assuage their mind into the guilty verdict against Pell.  In other words, "This bastard is guilty of something just like the Church is, so cop this, Pell.  You'll do as the sacrificial lamb."

only one boy claimed he was abused by Pell....

yet  on is release ... we hear cries of thats not fair to all those children who were abused......

and yes we know there are many... but Pell was only ever charged with this 1.....why does his release affect all those who were abused..???....

because its no different from blaming all Muslims for Terrorism..or all righties for corruption  or all Chinese for coronavirus....

he is now responsible for all children abused by the church...

its the court of public opinion  at the end of the day he will have to live with..

in my mind he is serving a sentence the Vatican should be serving....

"Multiple times."  Getting a year wrong is hardly noteworthy.

Well, that will be interesting.  They have had the Royal Commission.  Pell named.  Pell charged...tried many times...ultimately acquitted.  Reckon it is time to forget prosecuting Pell.  Several shots have been taken.  All missed.  Move on.

Maybe but my point still stands. Its basically a yep, make sure there are no witnesses you'll get away with anything.
