he was employed by the Church  he was following their directions....it went on for years... Pell was not the only one....

like I keep saying its the VATICAN that should be on trial...children have been abused since time began...sadly today it is still acceptable in some countries....

I think we have had our pound of flesh from Pell....

why should he be tried because he was following the rules of his church???..

its taken us years to understand the damage of sexual abuse.....and  rape....

did he abuse this boy?  I dunno I seriously dunno.....all I know is he shouldnt be charged with covering up vile priests.....

charge him you have to charge every one of them including the POPES...

That is not my quote Cods .... It is Greggerypeccarys.

He should be charged for the covering up of crimes ...... sexual abuse of children.

And yes the cover ups & shielding go all the way to the top ...... El Pope O.  Roll Eyes

sorry!

sins of the father... comes to mind thats all..

did he cover up anything????.. I dont know!

he moved a priest who had been complained about.......its all I know....and that wasnt a crime in the Church....

or in those days at all......

did the minister in charge of Children Institutions   where ginormouse abuse went on...not only sexual...it was horrific...did the Minister get charged and sentenced?????.. for all of them?....

those people are still with us still living with it... Sad Sad Sad

where is their justice....

wouldnt it be easy if we could lump it all together and make just one man pay..... too easy I am thinking..

"sins of the father" boy we in my family know about that one. My father did something bad years and years ago and we dont know what it was. Every now and then it comes up though and we get "randomly" selected for security checks.

Always said he would....

It is always open to governments to install laws that make it a crime to not act, or rather than fail to act with depraved indifference etc, to cover not reporting or acting on a known offence.

Also it is within the domain of the Pope to make rules about this... maybe he needs to sit down for a long chat with his Almighty...

There only two people alive who know for sure what happened.

Each has a very different view of the events.

As for Pell generally? I think he is a vile man who covered up systemic child abuse for decades.

I dont mean to defend him but can you imagine what would have happened - back in the 70s and 80s if he had tried to violate the catholic thing and come forward? What could he (or any other priest) do?

Yeah imo those ppl shouldn't have been moved but kicked out. He may not have had that power back then though.

Yes, they should have been kicked out. I'm not sure what powers the administrator for the Ballarat district had back then?

There are other accusations about Pell and he is reported to have made "jokes" about priests buggering boys ... not a very nice person.

It's not about making one man pay for all .....

it's about making each individual involved accountable for their parts in the abhorrent/evil sexual abuse of children.

They(preists) are supposed to be their protectors not abusers.

One mother whose son committed suicide aged 14 in 1974 was a staunch catholic, even cleaned the priory where her son was molested now calls the church an institution/industry of evil.

If possible please watch Revelations.

Anyone can make an accusation, against another person [or persons].

Even a FALSE accusation.

And, anyone can have an opinion about any accusation, made against another person [or persons].

To find truth, requires not only an accusation [and an opinion, by onlookers/others].

Truth [in a court of law, in Australia]         requires PUBLIC evidences, PUBLIC substantiation and PUBLIC corroboration [of the testimony of any single witness], to support any accusation.

substantiate = = provide evidence to support or prove the truth of.

corroborate = = confirm or give support to (a statement or theory).

That is an OPINION.     ....perhaps it can be called an ignorant OPINION.

But such an opinion, is nothing more than that.

So....let's move on to something completely disgusting.  The guy is acquitted....found 'not guilty', and then has been stalked by the schmedia pricks, all looking to out him somewhere.  Even to the extent of having a helicopter track the car he was in for over an hour.  Disgraceful.

Arseholes.  The guy is innocent. Far cough schmedia.

He may be innocent in this case.

But he is not innocent of decades of deliberately covering up for paedophile priests, shifting them around & allowing them to continue to molest young children in new locations.

He deserves to be jailed for those actions .... as does anyone of similar stature in the Church who has done the same in the past.

When was he charged and convicted of those crimes?

Did I say he had?

I said he should be

Don't be a f*#kwit.

So how can you say he's guilty?

Because he was in charge ... he knew ... he kept the silence ...

& followed church procedure of deny & stay silent.
