Stupid idea to take pensions off people after six weeks overseas. It's your pension, you can do what you like with it, so enough of this Big Bully Daddy business..
I kind of sympathize for people on a pension wanting to live overseas. Australia is such an overrated ripoff cost of living society which literally steals money from people. I can get a 1 to 3 exchange rate in Malaysia and employ a house maid for the equivalent of $300 AUD a month so why would anyone want to stay in Australia and give all of their pension away to some liberal voting opportunist who runs a nursing home ?
When do these new rules come into effect ?
I know someone who is eligible for a pension in December. Will they be affected if the legislation goes through in August ??
I was hoping to live overseas one day -
& collect my pension.
unfortunately you will have to stay in australia and spend it all at harvey normans store to keep their fake economy going. That's what they want
This is where the moronic politicians and stooopid public servants have stuffed up.....big time.
As they push self funded retirees harder and harder, the next step is the ALL selff funded retirees will start looking at greener pastures.
I myself am looking at Spain, Greece, even Italy where the lifestyle is so much better and at a fraction of the cost of our overpriced country.
Sell my overpriced house, take my super and move to these greener pastures where I can live comfortably.
Without the greedy, lazy, incompetent and stooopid Australian grubberment getting one cent of my savings.
At the moment I have sourced a nice seaside retreat for about 1/2 what my house is worth (after exchange) leaving me with a sizable savings base.
Living off the interest alone would give me a comfortable lifestyle.
