Well FD.
How about we run this Country 'Castro' style.
We knock our Political empowerment down a few notches and become Communist (Egalitarian-like Wink) but raise our Medical empowerment up to give our people an extra 20-30 years longer (than the USA average) life from a 'Stress Free' country and good Health?

The West has a 'subordinated' Medical Industry in the face of the empowerment of Politics. This is the best you get
"Wash your hands and stay at home."
- the typical life of a subordinate Health Worker afraid of catching germs from people.
This is the life a lot of them live - some because they have to... working in Operating Theatres where the chance of infection can be high if performed in a busy shopping mall.

You don't like it the way it is? Well would you prefer New Zealand's style next door in Big Brother Oceania?
Maybe the other side with South Africa? Can you imagine what it would be like to do the Australian style in South Africa? Do you think those hordes of clicking Xhosians are going to 'stay home'? Hunger will drive them out.

...and it's Hunger that will make you drive out and disobey the laws.
Desperate times ahead in the Year of Living Dangerously.  Wink

Yes. I am all out of Spanish Mackerel. I had to resort to buying Barramundi for $10/kg on the weekend.

I still have a some snapper and trout in the freezer but I will be going to get more food soon.
I can't see how they can stop you from catching food.

Boats off the trailer on tyres atm anyway.
Trailer is having a birthday this weekend. New springs, bearings, brakes and clean up the white rust.

The farmed rubbish?

No idea. From coles. Was off an enourmous fish. The staff bought most of it. Some kind of shenanigans. I've heard the wholesale price has crashed, but not the retail.

They've gone back up now.

FD, a lot of the live fish exports to china and hong kong died with the travel bans so there is probably a glut.

Don't worry. The Politicians will 'go out' because of the Hunger too.
Soon they'll tire of being prevented from making money and having to spend it like a payment to the People.

That said. Shouldn't we be putting Sanctions, as should the World - on China?
I mean - the Government placed a full 1/4 of our Economy on China and look what has become of it.
We put our Money on a sick Chinese Economy.
This Virus is the price China pays to get ahead.
It is a False Economy and a very sick one at that.
It will happen again and possibly even worse.
Unless Sanctions are imposed and China changes it's ways.

Commercial fisho I take it?
Or Asian...that's right snowflakes out there..I said Asian. Those mongrels have decimated our marine life in Moreton bay. They eat everything, and take everything.   Angry

Rec fisho's can only have 10ltrs of prawns max per person and 20ltrs max per boat with 2 or more people on board.
They measure prawn bag limits in litres.

"Case in point, children are being forced to attend school ..."

Forced?

Dr Pietro Vernazza is a Swiss physician specialising in infectious diseases at the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen, and is also Professor of Health Policy, and says:

"In Italy, one in ten people diagnosed die, according to the findings of the Science publication, that is statistically one of every 1,000 people infected. Each individual case is tragic, but often – similar to the flu season – it affects people who are at the end of their lives... If we close the schools, we will prevent the children from quickly becoming immune." We should better integrate the scientific facts into the political decisions.

– Interview in St. Galler Tagblatt, 22nd March 2020

So what? We will all be immune in 12 months time when the vaccine comes out.

Spot checks and using face time, by the Police, on people that were supposed to be self isolating, have shown just how belligerent some people are to ignore that guideline, to self isolate, to be given the trust to do so.

12 people in Victoria, for instance, were not home when police did a spot check.

Yes ... that's the same attitude they displayed by leaving the country for OS holidays/cruises after this virus was well & truly a global issue.

Ignorant & arrogant pharking idiots.

That even goes for that Melbourne Doctor Chris Higgins .... who failed to show any common sense & err on the side of caution after he returned from OS.

people I know have just come back from a 21 day Norwegian  cruise.....he would have to be over 70....

a man in isolation has been picked up by police 4 TIMES hes been all over the place......the police chief is furious

I hope they lock him up....

then we have the mod flown in and put in good hotels  whining about the time their breakfast is delivered..

oh its so hard on the children......as if! Angry Angry Angry Angry

On a news report last night it was shown that several of the whingers in the forced hotel isolation were doctors.

Whining that they should be allowed to go home & self isolate ... and that their rooms weren't getting the linen changed daily, the food was no good etc etc.

It shows education & qualifications don't amount to intelligence & commonsense.

They chose to go OS in the company of people from all over the globe at a time when the virus was well & truly near or declared a global pandemic......

they should just STFU, do the 14 days & then go home. And go into isolation like the rest of us.

Selfish arrogant arseholes.

I bet some TV station will want to do a "their story".  Roll Eyes

I think that has just been over-ruled.

Not according to mate from Mackay who rang me yesterday.

He has just bought a 24ft Shark Cat ..... not allowed to take it to the boat ramp .... ramp closed.

I imagine that has to do with the numbers of people who could be there launching & retrieving at the same times.

A lot of people own boats ...... & only 2 people are allowed to be together.

I would suggest that the Transport Minister in QLD Mark Bailley has foolishly contradicted the guidelines for corona virus isolation in regards to boating/fishing not being an essential activity ..... unless it's your business or you live or work on an island.

I believe the initial directives given by Transport & Main Roads were correct .....

and because of whinging another idiot politician has folded and made an exception to the rules ..... like Morrison did with Hairdressers & Barbers.

They more they do this the less likely the isolation strategies will work & the more likely people will disregard the directives.  Roll Eyes

Man I hope you're right.
I couldn't believe it.
You can go to work with 50 other people but you can't go fishing by yourself?
Ludicrous.

You will not be on your own when you launch & retrieve ........... so are the Police expected monitor boat ramps as well to make sure not too many are there?

Unless it's essential bottom line is

STAY THE F*#K HOME.
