that was the whole purpose of this thread.

I'm not technical enough to understand the differences between them and price range all the way from $50 up to $600. I don't understand why such a large jump in price. I also don't know which brands are reliable and which are cheap crap.

I want just easy, cheap and reliable. It doesn't need bells and whistles.

You buy a pair and plug one powerline into an electricity outlet near the router and plug a lan cable from the router to it, then in the other room, plug the other powerline into an outlet near your computer then a lan cable from it to your computer. Works like Magic.

the dlink was plug and play. It would have been except for the network address. Im with iinet so if you are with iinet its different. If you are with someone else its prolly not. This thing is actually very good. Like i said its extended the wifi to all the buildings here. Dlink is a pretty good brand.

What's the difference between that and an extender?

I have one like that pictured but it really doesn't work.

As I said before, it turns your house wiring into a lan cable so every powerline you plug into the wall is a lan outlet.

They're very stable and only occasionally need to be rebooted (turned off/on) less than once a month.

Update.

powerline boosters only work if the router, and the other end are on the same electrical circuit. In my case it won't work as they're two separate circuits.
