Wifi Extender
Mar 22nd, 2020 at 4:04pm

I have the office set up in one bedroom and the internet speed is a little sow in that bedroom only. The router is at the other end of the house. I was told a wifi extender would help.  There So many out there with such huge price ranges. I'm not very tech savy and I don't want to buy a $500 one when a $100 one will do.

It's really only one pc being run out of that bedroom.

Any recommendations?

Buy an aerial for the router if it can accommodate that or move it closer!

Get Aussie to stand in the middle of the house with extension cords to the relevant sockets

Move the wifi to a more central position. Cost $0.

Which is more important? The office or the rest of the house?

Im using a dlink and its works great once i got it set up. they had a different internal network than my router. Im getting good reception about 30ft away and 50ft away from the router. In a separate building in fact.

They are a good brand.

I don't use one. I have a mobile internet with wifi that works right throughout the house when my brother visits. It sits in the office full time,

Cheapest is probably just getting another wifi router free off someone and setting it in repeater mode half way between the room and your current router. Or just buy a wifi repeater. Google wifi repeater. Look on ebay.

$9

Sorry, that was US.

AU $4.28 each
