After Einstein is said to have written that the "Chinese are spiritless" etc in his diary, some people have called for the "ban of Einstein."  So laf

Why don't we call for a "ban" on Churchill because he was often alarmingly drunk and a "racist" and turn the UK over to the Germans?

.. at least Churchill was sober in the morning....one should guard above all one's reputation as a man of no character, for if anyone should become proud of you, you are lost. (paraphrase on a Churchill statement to a young Commando/spy).

The Indian version has catchy tunes too. It is the story of Hardick Ramindeep and Pooja N Butt. My favourite tune is You're The One That I Want to Rape.

I love those old musicals -
the more nerdy, cringeworthy & daggy they are the better.  Grin.

It just escapism like the Bollywood musicals.

Apparently it's now being called the most sexist, racist, regressive, reprehensible and downright offensive movie ever made.

I haven't read the articles yet but lets see if I have this right.

A movie made 40 years ago set in a period of time about 70 years ago is not displaying ideals and values commensurate with 2018?

Well knock me over with a papadum and call me Raj!!!

I'd always thought the film RUBBISH, period, from day one

Don't take it so seriously.
It's just some entertainment to forget your boring life.

I'd never thought of it as "entertainment" ?

John Waters said it better, years later, in the original
"Hairspray"

That's why feminism tries to disallow it: they are pissed at the laundry they redo twice a week for no rational reason!
