It is indirect. The electorates with the highest Muslim populations were the highest to vote no. You do the math.

The electorate with the highest no vote in the nation - 73.9 per cent - was the Labor-held seat of Blaxland, which takes in the suburbs of Bankstown, Yagoona and Auburn.

There have been articles about how Imams are wanting to tell their people to vote no but don't want to alienate the left who they feel supports them.. Oh dear.

Plus I'd say the majority of Christians voted yes as the vocal Christian nutjobs are rather few.

It's all there in black and white. All that part of the west voted no in large numbers. In addition to the three suburbs that Gordon posted, there is Sefton, Greenacre, Lidcombe, Campsie, Bass Hill, Chullora the list goes on. Are you from NSW or Sydney more specifically? Do you know the area at all?
