★ For what offenses can a sitting President of the United States be charged & then tried for Impeachment?

★ What is the process which must be followed to Impeach & Prosecute a sitting President of the United States.

★ How many Presidents were ever charged for Impeachment?

★ How many of those were ever tried & Impeached?

★ How many of those that were actually tried & Impeached, were subsequently removed from Office?

★ If a President is tried, found guilty, & Impeached, must he be removed from office, or are there other alternatives?

► ► ► I'd like to know, & surely so do others,  if all those that are squawking about President Trump's http://mysmileys.web44.net/smileys/chuckle002.gif   impending   http://mysmileys.web44.net/smileys/chuckle002.gif  Impeachment actually know what it means, know the laws regarding Impeachment, or the exact steps that are required to actually accomplish a Presidential Impeachment.    Or are they only blowin' smoke up their own asses? http://33sm.net16.net/smileys/imthinkin6.gif

..

your problem is that you are not understanding what is going on. Watergate was up until now the worst scandal of US political history and now, Trumpgate is looming as far worse and potentially uncovering treason.  Trump and even Pence may lose their jobs.

So then longweakend58, by your  obvious 'dodge',  I'd have to conclude you don't know dick squat about the American Constitution, the Impeachment process, America's history pertaining to Impeachment, & you're only blowin' lil puffs of smoke up your own ass!  Figures as much!!!  Grin Grin Grin Grin

.......I know all about the impeachment process, but that is nothing to do with it. Trump is headed for removal from office one way or the other - and quickly.

longweakend58, I've been reading your bullsh!t for months, & that's all it is.......PURE BULLSH!T.......

You pretend to know about American History, about American Laws, about the American Constitution, & about what will become of the American President in the future (Impeachment for example)......the only problem is the FACT you know little if anything about any of those topics........much less than I suspected, so much so it is abundantly obvious that you are nothing but a bold faced liar.... http://33sm.net16.net/smileys/cleanteeth09.gif

There are only 2 ways President Trump "MIGHT" be removed from office......If God calls him home, or he is Impeached, tried, found guilty of Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors, & then, & only then, by a possible decision & subsequent vote of the U.S. Senate.

Even at that, it isn't a surety that the U.S. Senate will remove President Trump from office.......Constitutionally, it is not mandatory.

you are ignorant.   There is a third way - 25th amendment. Also, if he is convicted of a criminal offence. Or if he is declared bankrupt.

so there are THREE more ways.

I'm beginning to think Trump actually wants to be impeached.

The whole POTUS thing is just leagues over his head ... and, rather surprisingly, he's not too stupid to notice.

Depends on what the evidence shows, from what I read of Mueller he seems like an excellent choice.

It does seem to set out the circumstances whereby the VP becomes the Acting President when it is determined to declare the President "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office" by submitting a written declaration to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Section 4 is meant to be invoked should the President's incapacitation prevent him from discharging his duties, but he is unable or unwilling to provide the written declaration called for by Section 3. The President may resume exercising the Presidential duties by sending a written declaration to the President pro tempore and the Speaker of the House.

Should the Vice President and Cabinet believe the President is still "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office", they may within four days of the President's declaration submit another declaration that the President is incapacitated. If not already in session, the Congress must then assemble within 48 hours. The Congress has 21 days to decide the issue. If within the 21 days two-thirds of each house of Congress vote that the President is incapacitated, the Vice President would "continue" to be Acting President. Should the Congress resolve the issue in favor of the President, or make no decision within the 21 days allotted, then the President would "resume" discharging the powers and duties of his office. The use of the words "continue" and "resume" imply that the Vice President remains Acting President while Congress deliberates.

However, the President may again submit a written declaration of recovery to the President pro tempore and the Speaker of the House. That declaration could be responded to by the Acting President and the Cabinet in the same way as stated earlier. The specified 21-day Congressional procedure would start again.

Iread that as being you can argue Trump is incompetent, he can say no he isn't but if its still determined he's incompetent he can be removed from the office whilst Congress deliberates on the permanent removal.

You are correct. It is increasingly obvious that Trump is mentally unstable and unsuited to hold the office.  But it needs Pence to act and cabinet to concur and then, for congress to support it. That is a big ask and worse, is essentially a political act as it requires very broad support (as it should). At the moment I dont think such an act would succeed, but at the pace at which Trump is unravelling, that time could be just a few weeks or even days away.

Trump's not going anywhere, Longy. They'll never impeach him.

But yes, Trump would love to be thrown out of office. He can go back to something he's good at - a new TV show or developing golf courses in Russia or the Arab Emirates.

He can then spend the rest of his life complaining about the government. Remember, Trump never ran to become president, he ran to increase his Twitter followers.
