Easter Sunday will be a public holiday in the ACT from next year.
Canberrans will enjoy another public holiday from next year, with the ACT government to add Easter Sunday to the list.

Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday were already public holidays.
Chief Minister Andrew Barr made the announcement at the ACT Labor Conference on Saturday morning as part of an address defending the weekend penalty rates system.
"We need a clear work/life balance to protect precious time with our families and friends, as well as a clear recognition of the cost of having to work outside the traditional, Monday to Friday working week," he said.
"Over the coming months, the Cabinet will ensure Easter Sunday in 2016 will be classified as a public holiday in the ACT as it should be.
"This is a win for all the hard working emergency services personal, retail and hospitality workers that work on Easter Sunday rather than spending it with their friends and family."
There were 13 public holidays listed in the ACT this year, with the next being Family and Community Day on September 28.
The move by the Labor government to list Easter Sunday, one of the holiest days in the Christian calendar, is slightly ironic given only one of the eight Labor MLAs (in contrast to seven Liberal MLAs) attended an ecumenical church service to mark the start of the parliamentary year in 2014.
