I started a Calling All Gardeners topic about a yr ago.

I have no idea what happened to it.

So I started THIS Gardening topic.

Now all of a sudden YOU'RE interested in my gardening topic... so much so that you want to control it in your forum which concerns alcohol.

Can you see a problem here?

Nothing to do with you. I started gardening threads and have now asked for the board name to be changed to include Gardening.

Why not just join in?

I live with impoverished soils-- living on the coast means ( most of the time) that soils are very acidic-- I can grow very little, but my dad could grow literally anything.. thinking of going hydroponic. ! Soils that  have to have heap's of money spent on them to make them fertile kind of defeats the purpose.

Hello Ms AG  Smiley

Throwing cow manure, slow release fertiliser pellets then sugar cane mulch before you grow anything can help set the scene for successful planting.

The other thing I've found helpful is locating the best position for certain plants.

Umm AG, why have you changed your nic to something so awful?

Or are you confessing to a certain online sin we have been discussing next door lol Tongue

Ah! thanks for that Lisa....now AG wants to be 'the mole', but there can only ever be one mole, George, AG and Cods need to get over their desperation and power trips.

Lisa, why is a mole awful? I love all creatures, great and small, even cane toads, I don't really love them but would never kill one.

Do much gardening, dear Dame Pansi? Or cooking/preserving? My board is crying out for clever contributors!

(Yes, I am shameless in plugging my board!)

Huh? You are HERE joining in. You do get that. Perhaps you don't.

You have BEEN IN HERE FOR SOME TIME ACTUALLY.

Then all of a sudden, something made you think it's time to take over.

Hence your RECENT gardening AND food topics in Fermentations.

Leave the Food forum alone, leave gardening alone.

Re gardening, you only asked for the name change to your Fermentations forum AFTER I revealed to you that I had sent through request for a stand alone gardening forum.

This is awkward, I feel like I am scolding my dad.

Gardening has been added to Fermentations. You don’t have to ferment your produce. Just nice to keep gardening related posts/threads together? Maybe Mod Aussie can transfer this thread to Fermentations?

I am also asking for treacle tart recipes—can you help? Or with a recipe for baklava?

1. Gardening has NOT been added to your Fermentations forum

2. Baklava is a FOOD. It belongs in the FOOD forum because you do not ferment baklava....unless you are certifiably insane.

Thanks for making me laugh so hard today. Angry

Can you see how ridiculous you sound George?

Try the Food forum then. Perhaps, they'll be of assistance to you over there.

Seems you have yet to realize THIS topic is about GARDENING.

Now let's leave the matter there. I will await word from FREEDIVER who happens to OWN this site. He is yet to answer my PM which I sent him well before your announcement in Feedback for a name change.

I used to make a lot of baclava and almost became addicted to it many years ago. I used to do a good dozen layers of pastry with a variety of crushed nuts and coated with a honey and citrus sauce. Preparation is time consuming when you make it properly.

I couldn't eat much of it now - if at all. I haven't had a piece for quite a few years. It is delicious though.

And ......we found 2 rockmelons growing under leaves. The leaves look very similar to cucumber leaves but are smaller in size. The kids were stoked. We'll be taking some shots when they're ready to pick.
