They LOOK ripe ( they have that yellow/orange tinge on their outer skin ) but are as hard as rocks. Still, we're going to pick them now as we don't want the birds/bats to get to them 1st.

4 rockmelons are happily growing away atm.

A few of the neighbours have been looking at them enviously.

I guess I'll have to keep 1 for us and give the rest away.

Update on our mangoes :

We gathered 40 mangoes all up. Unfortunately, we lost 15 mangoes to birds/bats.

Just a few days back, I saw mangoes like ours sell for $4 each.

Don't ask how many we gave away to family, friends and neighbours...

Not sure I would go so far as to say that.

I try to grow some stuff with varying success.

No veges this year except a couple of tomatoes in big pots.

This year a new rose garden with standard roses, progressing OK

I have been trying to grow orchids most of which are still alive but no flowering yet (second season)

Bought some bromiliads at the same time as the orchids, they are thriving.
