Whatcha mean sonny, I am almost 70 and still do some work!

We are not all useless you know!

It isn't about choosing to do it - this gives people no option when many are probably not capable.

No way will I be able to be fully productive in the workforce at 70 if still above ground.

what utter nonsense.  most 70yos are fit, healthy and more than capable of working - and many still do.  you can retire when you want.  you can get the pension with you are 70.  get over it.

It's not an issue for me, I will never qualify for a pension but I am still sure that I will also not be fit to work or capable of working at 70 and it should not be mandatory.

I would think that few manual workers or Labour type workers would be able to continue till 70 and they are typically the ones dependant on a pension who would have no other option.

you can retire when you want.

The point of the 70 retiring age is that no you can't you have to make 70 if you are not self funded.

Remember, Labor deficit bad.

Liberal deficit good, spent on worthwhile things like..........war.

Are the submarines included in that? What are they for again? Looking for MH 370?

You forget a lot, don't you? Stephen Smith (Labor) is the one who got the ball rolling on purchasing new subs to replace the Collins-Class fleet, not Abbott. Oh and by the way, most of the current budget is Labor policy because the Coalition hasn't been allowed to have its own policies pass in the Senate. So if you want to blame anyone, blame Swan, as it's simply a continuation of his policies. Hockey is doing the best he can in light of a hostile Senate determined to say no to everything.

I still maintain it was irresponsible to cut taxes without first cutting spending. The senate has near equal power under the Australian system.

It's not just a continuation of swan's policies though, the coalition has increased spending and then wasted a bunch of money on a conflict in Iraq that will only make Australia a bigger target.

Typical of you to not understand the nuances of modern language

Regardless of what you actually do, your work is not physical and you should stop trying to compare it to someone who's work is physical ...
