Why not use a taser?

Did one of the stabbed cops shoot the young guy? Could not have been that badly hurt in that case.

Another thread by whinging rightards.   for goodness sake, a young man has been shot dead by trigger happy Victorian Police.  If you can shoot him to kill him, why couldn't you shoot to injure/disable him?.    Valueable information on why/how/who etc has been lost that may have revealed his motivation to do thios because once again trigger happy police in Victoria have aimed to kill rather than other methods.

Go back to whining about deaths in rooftops you bunch of sickos.  Have some thoughts and respect for the relatives of this obviously distressed young man who has been slaughtered.

I think that after both officers had been stabbed their sole concern was for their lives, which is understandable. Besides, Police training teaches them that if they have to shoot to aim for the centre mass, which is the largest target. You only see the cops shoot to wound or shoot the gun out of the bad guys' hand in the movies. A more important question you could and should have asked was, "Are the two stabbed officers who were simply doing their jobs to keep us all safe alright?". So just S T F U!!!

Your concern for the safety and wellbeing of the two Police Officers is touching.

Look Pea Brain.  They obviously had the ability to shoot, so why not shoot to disable?  How do you know what positions the Officers and the victim were in?    The rightards on here jump around gleefully because someone whom they presume is a terrorist  and has been shot

Put your petty politics aside for a moment and have some respect for a misguided 18 year old who has been slaughtered by Vic Police.   Have some decency and think of the parents, relatives and friends who also want to know "why" and what motivated his actions

But no, have your little rant you disrespectful twat!    It would be a far different story if it was your kid wouldn't it
So STFU yourself

A taser would have disabled the young bloke and he could then have been interviewed.

Two cops with guns against a disturbed guy with a knife?

Probably, but far better that the idiot OP and the sidekick from Canberra turn it into a political thing.  Deaths in Roof tops, people killed at sea, deaths at christmas island - it's just fodder for them and their  morbid death fascination.

There is also no concrete evidence he was a terrorist—thought to have an ISIS flag. Criticising the PM? Over 50% of Australians do that!

Might have been a better result if he could have been interviewed.

He made threats against the PM - a big difference between that and a difference of opinion. He was observed to have walked around in public with the ISIL flag. He had his passport cancelled to stop him leaving Australia. He went willingly to the Police station and then when he shook hands with the Police when their guard was down, he stabbed both of them. Tell me now that over 50% of Australians do that!

He's not Bin Laden, not a terrorist mastermind. Just a brainwashed idiot who got caught up in the ISIL hysteria and thought he was doing Allah's work. Nothing but Godless, morally bankrupt thugs. Nothing to learn from this idiot.

At this stage we don’t know anything other than he stabbed/slashed two cops and got shot dead. Sounds more like a disturbed individual to me.
