it helps the bitter sour losers to heap their hatred on something else besides the right..

I think they do a good job by the look of this thread..those full of hate and bitterness come out of the woodwork at times like this.....

they never get bored with showing everyone just how bitter they are do they..

not a happy hello amongst them..I am so glad I am not a lefty... they despise everything that they dont have.but judging by the boards wish they did.. Grin Grin

I like the royals being here. Reminds me why I'm a republican when the country goes batshit crazy about some unelected spongers and their inbred family.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

Like a nice little ray of sunshine the William Kate and George have come to visit us and spread happiness wherever they have gone.

Which is more than I can than I can say about the misery guts scratching out their bile on this thread.

The Royals' visit has given the general population a 'bounce' worth whatever it costs.

I live in the Mountains, near where  the great fires  caused havoc last year. I can tell you that the residents of Winmalee enjoyed a great lift in morale when the Royals came to visit and showed great compassion. It was just what this fighting Mountains Village needed  after all the despair and hundreds of homes lost.

Now that was bloody well worth it, all on its own!

PS Incidentally since the good publicity for the Mountains, the tourists have flocked back in numbers I haven't seen for years since the Royal visit.

Is that Red Neck or Red Baron.

I call BS to your assertions.

Certainly not me (Redneck),

I dont mind them visiting as long as they pay the massive bill that goes with the visit.

As far as racing around the country trying to see them, I would rather go fishing!!

I know this is hard four you dumb @#$% TO UNDER STAND But there is nearly 450 media types paying for accommodation ,air fares ,rick shaw ,driver ,restaurants Plus future tourists that head here because of the royals   Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

Well that proves what a shallow thinking DH you are. Pro-Royal or Anti-Royal has nothing to do with left or right. If there is anything that divides to protagonists is emotion and rational.

The Pro's go; Oh they are soooo sweet, they are soooo cute, they make me feel good, they are tradition, they are custom, etc etc. - all emotional reasons.

The Anti's go; it is hype, it is spin, there is no bases for these people to be deferred to or even respected above and beyond the normal etc etc. - all rational reasons.

I have no "hate and bitterness" towards the Royals. I have frustration and amazement at my fellow 'assumed to be' well educated Australian who can't see pass the hype and BS.

Your logic is as good as your spelling  Cheesy Wink.

Firstly, the 450 jurno's and hangers on would be spending the same amount chasing a story somewhere. They might even be forced to think for themselves and to report on something significant.

Secondly Aus has paid $30mil for them to be here. You might as well just give each of them $10,000 to stay at home and write a romantic novel.

It is the same logic that has the feds give GM $2bil to keep the car industry alive. It is the same logic that has the NSW govt giving $mil's to the V8's so they can use public assets for private profit.

Maybe dumb @#$% you think our government is loaded with money to pay for these freeloaders, well I dont.

Far more has been wasted on all the extra security wages and accomodation, police overtime, public service support by all levels of government, special plane hire and of course not to mention accomodation at top dollar for the freeloaders than any benefit by a few boozy journos

As for all your claimed media numbers how about a link to prove this is not more of you made up BS

This is you. But the majority will always be needing to look up to some one as it's just part of our human nature. And that' right they are 'born' into the role of public servants, so they can't really be 'blamed' for being what they are can they. And if any thing they fail by not standing up for the public more, Prince Charles being the exception to this as he has been outspoken on some of Britain's problems. But without the royals Britain would go into a irreversible decline. They might have got away without them for a period hundreds of years ago, but not if it should ever happen again.

Eh. Embarrassed Has the discussion been about not looking up to any one. I'm saying if you are going to have heroes make sure they have substance and not all froth and bubble media productions.

I'm also saying these are Poms and don't relate to our values or our society. If you are going to have heroes make them worth while and make them Australian.

Grow up Australia, move on Australia.

Eh. Embarrassed. A strange logic and at best these are Pommy justifications for the Royals (and there are Poms who would differ with you and I would probably agree).

. The Royals actually work very hard.

at what exactly?

Raising hundreds of millions of pounds/dollars for sick children, animal welfare, disabled people, protection of environment, AIDS etc

I could go on. That comment is very very ignorant.

So they urge other people to give money to charity as opposed to giving their own money..mmmmok

The Royals don't give money, they just receive it.

Actually the Yanks regret losing the royals.Whenever they go across the pond for a visit there is even more people out on the streets for the visit than over here.Anyway us Australians get them for free, the uk pays for them.In fact the uk gets them for free too if you consider the incredible amount of revenue they generate.
For sure if we want to become a republic then so be it,but "don't cut off your nose to spite your face".It's a freebie for god's sake.

We pay for this visit and we pay them for being here.

And even if its a freebie why would you single them and kowtow to them as some one to be respected?
