It's not as nice as Pansi says, it's not as bad as Quantum makes out.
Like most issues, it seems to be somewhere between the two.
And what have I said to make out it is bad?
Are there not armed guards in shops?
Are there not men with machine guns on city street corners? They are there for a reason and it is because the place is not a utopia.
I'm not trying to paint maylasia as a terrible place. I have certianly injoyed my times there. But I'm sick to death of Pansi and her Asian love that paints everything as being perfect. She is a complete BS artist who has either never been there, or if she has, she has never left the tourist areas.
I didn't say Asia is perfect. It has its good and bad points like all countries.
I said Malaysia is multiculturally harmonious.
I've trounced nearly every corner of that city and I've never seen men with machine guns. Most security guards are sound asleep in a corner somewhere.
Apart from Bukit Bintang/Bintang walk/China Town/Brickfields there are no tourist areas, they are just suburbs. The money exchanges (and there are many) don't have armed guards.
There's not even armed guards at Petronas Tower, just security guards.
What corners are these armed guards standing on?
You make it sound like Cambodia after Pol Pot.
KL is actually a very boring city, people can't wait to leave, yet you make it sound like some war zone.
All of SE Asia has strong security or haven't you noticed this?
Try telling us what Iceland is like, there's a good chance no one on the forum has been there.
