Hi Adel,
so this huge Chinese military buildup is not a threat?

OK - thanks for that.

Why would China want to destroy their own and the worlds economy by invading any country they can simply buy resources from at rock bottom rates with their massive cash reserves?
China is just making sure history never repeats itself and their people are never enslaved and their resources stolen by the British, Japanese or anyone else.

Thanks comrade.

I suspect they have learned to sing cumbaya from the green's defence directorate web site and will only use their weapons for airshows and static displays.

You don't need to be a content expert to make cogent rational statements and question, just a modicum of intelligence and the ability to realise when someone knows more than you do.

From what I have read from the both of you, absolutely.

Your ignorance of defence and security matter is quite substantial and you should be pretty embarrassed by this but thanks to what is know as the Dunning - Kruger effect, you are very happy with your current 'knowledge'.

Like adele you two are just very sad and ignorant individuals

Quote:
Dunning and Kruger proposed that, for a given skill, incompetent people will:
1.tend to overestimate their own level of skill;
2.fail to recognize genuine skill in others;
3.fail to recognize the extremity of their inadequacy;
4.recognize and acknowledge their own previous lack of skill, if they are exposed to training for that skill.

Good one Big,
there are many people like that on Ozpolitic - even yourself. Grin

I am well aware of the limitations of my knowledge and tend to remain well inside those areas of expertise, you are proving your ignorance of this subject matter with every post and continue to do so unabated.

You are hitting all the marks, even as you try to deflect this affliction onto others.

That is your opinion - which doesn't make it a fact.

Have a nice day.

When someone who spent 10 yrs in the RAAF as an aircraft technician, 4 of which on strike fighters (F111), tells you you don't have a clue what you are taking about on this subject may be their opinion but it is also a fact.

You have no basis for your 'knowledge', you have never worked on fighter aircraft of any kind, you are very poorly read and you don't listen to those who do know about the subject at hand.

In this case, my opinion is a fact.

Its quite simple..over the last half century its been shown that Australia along with the USA are more likely to invade other countries than be invaded themselves. So its no wonder the countries in our region are spending more money on defence as their economies grow as the shackles of colonialism and anglo racism have been shaken off.
We have no reason to spend billions on fighter jets that will never be used except maybe to prop up another US invasion of some tin pot third world crap hole.
Lets instead save our billions, be good global citizens and allies to the countries in our own region and never again let racism and and an aloof anglo superiority complex form our foreign policy and dictate who we trade and exchange ideas and technology with.
There are reasons for wars and the rise of extremism and it makes more sense to be pro active in ensuring it never happens rather than spend billions propping up the multi trillion dollar defense industry well after the issues could have been easily sorted out

I put fuel in my car but that doesn't make me an expert on cars.
I thought you were a war hero who was up to his armpits in mud and blood?
I assume you never saw action but instead sat in Australia refueling planes at some very safe RAAF base while the rest of us worked for a living.

You're an idiot who used his dead grandfather's war service to project your hatred of those who serve their country.

He would be so proud of you, wouldn't he  Grin
