this from the arithmetically-challenged Skippy who doesnt understand that Carr is a SENATOR and the PM has to come from the lower house. That requires an election - which labor will lose badly. and no MP is going to step aside for Carr in a byelection especially since there are so few safe labor seats left.

idiot

Now show everyone MR Long Time Lie where it says anywhere in the constitution that the Prime Minister has to come from the House of Representative or anything about a Prime Minister.

All it says is a Minister has to be a member of parliament. He can be a minister 3 months before he is elected for parliament

I make it easy for you here is a link to the constitution

http://australianpolitics.com/constitution-aus/text/chapter-1-part-3-house-of-re...

Go back to 1968 and John Gorton was elected leader of the Liberal party so he become Prime Minister on the 10th January and he was a senator at the time. He resign from the senate on the 1st February and was elected to the lower house in Holt old seat of Higgins on the 24th February, so between the 2nd and 24 February he was not a member of parliament.

So how would this go Carr takes over the leadership of the Labor party calls a election Peter Garrett resign his seat Carr stands for the lower house in Garrett's seat

As you've already said Carr could be PM without even going to the lower house, there is no law that says he cant. Longliar proving he is still a failure with no idea and little wiener syndrome.

Now Clive Palmer is buying his way to run against Wayne Swan.

This one seat could be the decider of the future PM.

So who would be a better PM

Clive Palmer or Wayne Swan?

Typical Liberal swill, they never get anything right. I cant wait to see their faces when Carr became PM and the imbeciles didn't have "strategy" for it. Grin

Well there is so much material, you just have to file it under 'name goes here' for the labor party. Why not organise it all in the order of possible leader. It isn't like you have to concentrate on one leader like labor do with 'name Abbott only goes here' unless you have a lack of material.

C'mon lolly! Tony isn't the real leader. We know the real leader...

Carr CAN become PM from the Senate, but it WON'T happen. He could stand for a seat, and if he gets in, then he could be PM. He'd have to find a really, really safe seat, though.

and how does the PM hndle question time from the senate? CANT. there is a reason Gorton left to go to the lower hosue. See if you can work it out. it has a little something to do with the convention of forming a govt. Teh GG requires the PM to have a majority in the LOWER house - something and uppre house PM cannot do.

I don't recall saying anything on the issue! In fact I don't think it'd happen either.

But to answer Drooling Dork... show us where it says the Prime Minister has to be in the lower house to answer questions. Questions to the Prime Minister could be put in the Senate. Lower House questions could be addressed to a delegate, same as questions to a Minister who happens to be a Senator.

Pretty easy. A drooling dork might even be able to think of it if he got his hand off his dick for a minute.
