Diggers wounded on Afghan mission.    Sad
June 6, 2012

AUSTRALIAN special forces soldiers have been shot and wounded, one seriously, during a 14-hour mission with Afghan forces to crack down on drug production in Helmand province.    Sad

The two soldiers from the Special Operations Task Group and a contracted civilian interpreter were shot by ''small-arms fire'' from insurgents during a mission with the Afghan National Security Forces on Monday.

One soldier is in a serious condition but is stable and responding well, while the others are reported to be in a satisfactory condition.

Defence said the seriously injured man is likely to be moved to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Centre in Germany for further treatment.

Defence said the three personnel were wounded in separate engagements on the mission against a drug-processing facility in the north of the province.

''The team on the ground treated their mates and organised a rapid evacuation from the battlefield by helicopter for each of the three incidents,'' Chief of Joint Operations Lieutenant-General Ash Power said.

I don't know what you are on about, it will all be over in 18 months the troupes will be home and Afghanistan can go back to the complete mess it has always been before we were there. It can then stand as another monument to the futility and ignorance of the western superiority complex.

Considering the terrorists that were responsible for 9/11 were from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and the ones responsible for the Bali bombing were from Indonesia and Malaysia, Afghanistan was chosen for annihilation simply because it was an easy target.
All those deaths and all that destruction will amount to nothing because as soon as we leave, Afghanistan will revert back to the warlord run corrupt hell hole its been for thousands of years. And whoever is in power at the time will have to deal with a refugee surge bigger than Ben Hur.
Afghanistan and Iraq were just invasions of revenge and have only served to destroy the US economy and kill many innocents and allied service personnel.

What Adelcrow said, and it was a convenient way for America to pull out of Iraq. The war effort will keep going, there's plenty of other countries that need messing up now. The evil Syrian government needs you America, quick, quick rush on in and take it.
