The media would not have turned either had Rudd's policies not been so associated with incompetence, waste and mismanagement.
Nor could Abbott have ever been given the airplay had the media believed Rudd knew what he was doing.

Gee you better tell your chums and the political parties,chook, because most of the country will tell you that its all about the numbers. Preferred PM and TPP wins elections. Here's a tip,chook, the person that gets the biggest TPP WINS the election, and Rudd ALWAYS beat phony tony, and the polls that ALL the rightards here gloat about ,and this thread is about, say that if Rudd was PM again he would kick phony tonys ass. What is it about facts that confuse you chook????

the true facts are that Abbott started his job a huge margin behind Rudd and quickly starting to reel him in. He started at 16% behind and was at 4% when the cowardly ALP knifed Rudd. So by any measurement, Abbott had Rudd well and truly beaten. And once Gillard came in, Abbott did the same thing to her.

Abbott has beaten both rudd and gillard.
