For the umtenth it is NOT about reducing Temperature.
I think you're splitting hairs here.

Not when you have to consistently deal with arguments like this

Quote:
Credible scientist have already said publically that if the whole planet stopped polluting today, it would take over 1000 years for the whole planet to decrease by ½ degree in temperature with the amount of CO2 that’s already in the atmosphere, but the Labs don’t want hear the science.

They love to jump on that, what they wont go on to quote from these scientists is that with the CO2 already in the upper atmosphere a temperature increase of 1 to 2 degrees over this century is UNAVOIDABLE.
What they are saying is if we don't stop then with the increased CO2 it will go to 4 to 6 degress & that has massive consequences for human life on this planet.

Because if your smart you will seek out energy providers that are not effected by the tax
Some people will do that anyway, but the overall impact will not be to reduce usage.

When was the aim to reduce usage????
It's to reduce usage of coal fired electricity not electricity itself.

Still working on this one.
Well maybe it's because the Greens would like to see all coal mines closed. That would be great for the economy.

They have never put a time frame on this & have always said it will be transitional, as renewable power comes online creating jobs mining will wain.
I personally don't really think it will go like that but lets not try & panic the sheep with all mines are closing tomorrow.
In fact if that actually happened(as was muted with the mining tax) seeing they employ only 1% of the overall workforce we'd still have low unemployment 5.9% using the latest figures.

Let's face it, this tax is about wealth redistribution, which was tried 90 years ago and it took them 70 years to decide it didn't work. Labor is a bit slow to catch on that's all.

Again another spook the sheep argument by alluding to communism

This tax will be an illegal weath grab for the rich unless we fight them to the death on it - they are after disability pensions and everything else they can get their hands on - unite with the immigrants, incite the workers to war with the corporations - agitate, activate action - fight

If we go through all his posts you reckon we'll find one that actually makes any sense? Doubt it.

perceptions,  those of us on budgets ,especially in NSW,  have already changed out habits re energy usage.  The only way further we can go is to revert to cooking over an open fire, washing in the creek, and using candles to light our way.  Forget keeping warm (or cool)  we just can't afford it.

So Tone's giving polluters 30 BILLION of YOUR money
You are getting NO COMPENSATION
Electricity bills are STILL going up
So's food, petrol any everything else
But that's OK Tones in power

smithy are you giving up you car??????

presuming if petrol gets to $2 a litre that that will be the point.

just checking!

It is inevitable that petrol will rise to $2 p/l anyway.

Hence why we need to actually start working towards alternative - hellloooo Carbon Tax.

No I won't I don't pay for cars or fuel (perks of my employment)
As for the lawn mower I don't have any grass so don't need that either,
my gardening consists of round up once a year on the pavers Cheesy

A goat is a very good suggestion, lawn mowing, milk & if you felt like it they make an excellent curry.

A Bill for an Act to raise revenue for certain purposes including, but not limited to, the destruction of whatever commercial & industrial prosperity the govt has not yet succeeded in crippling, to be known by the short title of The Carbon Tax.

Can anyone tell me how much temperature change this folly will yield either here or in the globe generally?

No?

Can anyone tell me why anyone who is compensated for their rising bills will be encouraged to reduce their electricity consumption?

No?

Can anyone tell me why this country should not continue to benefit from the efficiencies of cheap coal it has in abundance when it will continue to be shipped out in ever-increasing tonnages to China, India & the rest?

No?

These people - Gillard, Rudd Combat and the rest - are enemies of the people.

Are these above the missing  questions ? Good questions , particualrly when you consider that The Liberal party  is supportive of Clubs Australia’s campaign against pokie reforms. Perhaps you’d care to answer:.

How many clubs will shut down because of the proposed reforms?

How many people will lose their jobs?

How many “valuable community services” that clubs ostensibly provide will go to the wall?

How many employees will have their hours or wages stripped back?

Really, things are that tough?

What sorts of cost increases drove you that far back?

Have you at least got suitable lodgings, where you can have an open fire?
