My daughter played that, grade 5 or 6?
Nice
ANZCA or AMEB?
My fave Ludwig Van B piano pieces I loved playing were Fur Elise and Moonlight Sonata.
Interestingly, read below about CDs and the influence Beethoven had in the making of them.
Beethoven influenced the development of the CD.
The final movement in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is the most famous, as it served as the musical setting for FriedrichSchiller's poem "Ode to Joy." Beethoven was already deaf when he wrote it. The composer could not hear the frenetic applause when the symphony premiered on May 7, 1824.
The Ninth Symphony still influences music to this day. It served as the template of the 1970 worldwide pop hit "A Song of Joy." Since 1985, the instrumental version of "Ode to Joy" is the anthem of the European Union. The 80-minute standard for CDs established in 1982 was also influenced by the length of this approximately 70-minute symphony. Surveyed by developers of the product, the famous conductor Herbert von Karajan said that it should be possible to hear Beethoven's Ninth on just one CD. Interesting, LoLs. She studies AMEB. What level did you get to?This her current piece, nearly finished. Not the whole piece, from 15:08
I was with ANZCA at grade 5 (grade 6 equivalent to AMEB)
With some theory exams thrown in.
My first theory exam was in 1964.
Have stopped playing much....used to practice 2-3 hours a day.
Haven't bothered with playing music for some 10 years, and would hate to think how rusty I would be...my adult kids keep asking me to go back to playing piano again....I will surprise them one day (but first I need to practice all them scales again!)
I did buy a guitar earlier this year in March, then the whole Covid BS lockdown restriction thing started so I couldn't go to a guitar teacher, and put the guitar a back of couch all that time.
Didn't want to bother going online to self learn...I prefer a one on one with music teacher.
Have you ever played, or wanted to play an musical instrument Gordon?
Get your daughter to have fun with this piece "The minute waltz"
Talk about getting your fingers in a twist and tangle!
