WARNING:-  One day and probably now, these social media providers and the information services they provide, will be deemed 'too big to fail' because failure would cost jobs and money and a heap of trouble.... so those eight million cubic miles of machinery* will never be shut down, Morbius.. and governments - and especially the Albo types - fully understand that governments will be prime beneficiaries of holding every single bit of information over every citizen.. (for ANY purpose, Morbius) ... which is why they speak out of both sides of their mouths and with forked tongue - saying that 'oh this is dangerous' while actively working towards the very data centres that will make this Big Brother/Sister style tyranny a reality.

Governments have NO interest in cutting down or closing down all this data flow - and every reason to actively promote and support it for their own ends.

*my memory persists that it is 'eight million CUBIC miles of machinery' - yet the script shows 'eight million miles'... it HAS to be three dimensional... four if you count duration.

I hope it's a mental health issue. I also hope our politicians can take a breath. The last we want is some kind of heavy security presence or fear.

We want our MPs to chat in the street, have a coffee, catch trains, be one of us.

I've had calls with my local state MP. I'd like our federal MPs to be just as cheery and accessible.

Mental health issues, plus issues with our "austerity" government: excruciatingly, the ABC reports that recently Haines  had asked Albo to increase  mental health spending in the regions.. his response was "lots of people  ask for money"... I can see the mother of all coverups, to deny a relationship between 'austerity' and disasters like the Haine attack.

We don't even know what his 'disagreement' was or is... it seems the usual hodge-podge of emotional issues that cannot be reasoned with, that has somehow transformed into some quite insane plot to strike at someone in 'authority' regardless of facts.

We do know:  Nugent has mental health issues combined with chronic pain and exclusion by the NDIS.

Excruciatingly, Haines had only recently asked for more spending on regional mental health facilities, and was refused - "it's the budget", you see.

Mainstream "austerity" economists in charge of goverment finances are destroying social cohesion.

Not everything, just the riots around the world caused by government "austerity"...plus mentally-ill lone wolf outrages like the Haines attack, also related to govt. austerity.

Anyone can choose to be offended. It does not make it a right. Cool

That's right. Grappler said he gets upset about people cutting their tits off. I'm not seeing him taking it out on members of parliament, but you'd hope he's capable of expressing his views without spreading hate.

I'd suggest we all are.

Your previous comment suggested there may be a right, the comment was somewhat ambiguous. Was there a reason for that?

Not at all, I was quoting somebody else.

There's so many nots in there, I'm not sure who has the right.

The offended? Or the offender?

I don't know, Great. I doubt too many rage-baiters would volunteer for mental health services. I'd prefer to cut the source off at the vine, but that's just me.

Back in the day, FD used to do that on this board, can you imagine?

Ah, the good old days.

If the guy who tried to murder Helen Haines had been a One Nation supporter we would be hearing calls right now to arrest Pauline Hanson and ban One Nation.

But instead he was a leftist so it’s “mental health” and “social media algorithms.”

I don't know about that, Frank. The only person whoever tried to ban One Nation is Tony Abbott.

While Pauline was stewing in jail, he used to go round saying, no one has the right to not be offended.

Except the church. When he tried passing his offended laws, Mr Abbott made sure to leave them out of it all. They should get to be offended, Mr Abbott said, they do have that right.

Now he's the Liberal Party prez, Mr Abbott's made up with Pauline. She should get to be a bit offended, he says. Gina too. Those independent teals are so unfair.

I'm sure Mr Abbott's appalled at what's happened to Helen Haines, as are we all.

Mind you, if she ever leaves her seat, I dare say One Nation might have a chance.

You?

Yes, but who's going to hang the bots?

The rage accelerated with Elon's takeover of Twitter. He removed the moderation, tweaked the algorithm, and the other tech bros followed suit.

How are you going to hang your way out of that, Bobby?

I put it to you you're only proposing hangings because of the algorithm.

Ever get the feeling you've been farmed?

How would you stop the lone wolf terrorists?

That's a tough one, Bobby. Brenton Tarrant broadcast his killing spree live on Facebook.

Personally, I think we were a lot better off without any of this.

You?

I don't know how they could be stopped -

would they be deterred by public hanging of perpetrators?

"Former Port Adelaide star Daniel Stewart dies aged 37, club announces
Tributes have begun flowing for a loved former AFL player after his club announced the sudden death*

" news

Is it true that both her legs have been offered separate state furnerals to be paid by taxpayers?

Politicians advisers believe it would be a opportunity for photographers to pretend to show the human side of Politicians  and if Albo crying he would benefit in the polls?

So he attacks a family friend?

Yeah righto. The bloke is just a spoilt lefty extremist, that done nothing with his life & wants to take it out on mum & dad & family friends.

Lock the TNUC up throw away the key .... or just give him the needle.
