Are you asking me to prove that we can't get wind and solar powered submarines?

This was Lee's response when I pointed out to him that his own evidence (bloviating copy and paste jobs from AI) said that renewables are cheaper, and to get the best value we should get 80% to 90% of our electricity from weather-dependent renewables:

The fact that in only covers 80-90% shows that it isn't viable, even on average. AT ALL. Cool

Just go nuclear. No need for intermittent, weather dependant power at all.

Bloviating.

And nowhere does it say go solely nuclear. We have perfectly god fossil fuels. Grin

Lee do you understood that your own evidence said we would get best value with a grid that gets 80% to 90% of it's electricity from weather dependent renewables, and when I pointed this out to you, you attempted to bloviate that into "renewables are not at all viable so we should go nuclear"?

Or is it still too confusing for you?

You do realise the AEMO report based on the CSIRO's 2026 report, shows there are a lot of assumptions. ONE being there is enough battery and pumped hydro for only 2.6 hours of power?

So tell us how renewables are going to do it. For all those climatistas, you being but one, out there we should go nuclear. Grin Grin Grin Grin

All that I’m asking you to do is answer the question that you posed, however if you can’t then that’s only to be expected’

‘’Freediver,

‘’ Have you figured out the difference between a submarine and a power station yet, or are you still waiting for someone to explain it to you?’’

So to reiterate, I’m waiting.

Have you not noticed the several previous times I answered, or could you not understand the answer?

Then why did you ask the question if you had already answered it?

I think that you can’t and are indulging in a bit of obfuscation.

Because you complained that it was all too obvious complicated for you.

I am not asking you what the difference is, I am asking whether I have gotten through to you. Do you understand the difference between submarines and power stations yet, and that it was a particularly silly question to ask, given your apparent implication (you seem too scared to actually say anything on the matter) that if nuclear subs are a good idea, nuclear power must be equally good?

Would you like to tell us more about the nuclear power plant you think is going to be built here by 2030? Or was that just more bloviating?

But you did ask what the difference is, it’s there in black and white,

‘’ Have you figured out the difference between a submarine and a power station yet, or are you still waiting for someone to explain it to you?’’
I’m still waiting.

But as I see it there is no difference between a nuclear reactor in a boat and a nuclear reactor on shore, do you see a difference?

Just to keep matters straight there is no such thing as a nuclear powered submarine nor is there such a thing as a nuclear powered power station.
Both are steam powered with the necessary heat to boil the water coming from the reactor.

2030 is when we are expected to get our own steam submarine, complete with on board nuclear reactor, it will be based and thus,[when required] moored in Australia, so 2030 sees Australia with its second nuclear reactor.

You have some sever reading comprehension difficulties.

That is not asking you what the difference is. That is asking whether you have figured it out. Understand?

Why did you ask us what the difference was between a submarine and power station?

Quote:
2030 is when we are expected to get our own steam submarine

No it isn't.

Sir Eoin O Fada wrote on Oct 25th, 2026 at 2:55pm:
In point of fact, Australia is scheduled to get its first nuclear fuelled electricity generating
power plant in 2030, all going well.
That’s only a few years away.

That is an odd way to describe a submarine. Makes me think you were asking us what the difference is because you don't actually know, not because you were trying to prove some kind of point.

Or you were just bloviating. No need for what you say to make sense, so long as it is longwinded and makes you feel important.

Einy, when you asked us what the difference is between a power station and a submarine, did you have some kind of point, or were you just wasting everyone's time with your endless bloviating?

Same with your posts about wind powered submarines - bloviating?

Also walrusses - bloviating?

Also describing a submarine as either a "Steam submarine" or a "nuclear fuelled electricity generating power plant" - bloviating?

Your misinformation about delivery by 2030 - bloviating?

Not at all. Lee knows renewables make up the majority of power in at least three states and territories. He's already complained about this.

So ugly, he said. Why can't we use nice, clean sources of energy instead?

Lee doesn't want a transition to nukes, dear. He wants a transition back to coal.

2032 apparently but that’s dependent upon blowouts in manufacturing times.
=-=—
When did I post about walruses?

The so-called’’Nuclear Powered’’ submarines are steam powered as are all other ships which boil their water with nuclear reactors.

My only reference to wind powered submarines was to point out to you that early submarines used sails for power on the surface.
The early one that had a steam engine used it submerged or on the surface.
The famous British K boats used steam for surface propulsion and battery power submerged.

There is a very important difference between the reactors in submarines and most land based ones; those on subs are much safer.

That's unfair, Bobby. Lee just wants FD to repeat himself so Lee can quote-bomb him again.

Is that average, mean, or reliable?

So Tasmania, which relies on hydro and so it should, it has plenty of rain and snow.
Me :  renewables provide the majority of power in three states of australia. which ones

From AI: Tasmania and South Australia are the two states where renewables generate more than half of their electricity—about 94.7% and 74.3%, respectively, in 2024. I couldn’t verify a third state above 50%; Victoria was at 40.6%.

Me: IS that a steady percentage, an average  or does it fall below 50%

AI: It’s an annual average, not a steady percentage. The figures I gave—94.7% for Tasmania and 74.3% for South Australia—refer to 2024 electricity generation overall; the renewable share varies hour to hour and season to season, so it can fall below 50% at times. For example, South Australia’s share can swing with wind and solar output, while Tasmania’s hydropower output varies with water availability. My earlier answer also didn’t support the claim that three states were above 50%—I could confirm only those two on the figures

Me: Do any territories of Australia produce more than 50% from renewables

AI: Yes—the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has exceeded 50% on an annual basis. It reached 100% renewable electricity in 2020, through renewable generation procured from projects outside the territory. That means the ACT’s electricity use was matched by renewable generation; it doesn’t mean all power physically generated within the ACT was renewable.

So the power produced is either not reliable, or in the ACT's case they purchased green energy credits. Cool
