Very popular in Russia as well as sunflower seeds, semechki, very addictive too
Oh yeah, sunflower seeds, now I recall how much my daughter loved them when she was little.
She was always odd (but good) like that

Now as an adult very vegetarian and gluten free (gf intolerant)
The son is lactose intolerant. What the heck did I do to get this

I’m none of above mentioned.
I like and tolerate almost everything.
So…..my cooking style has changed tremendously as a result.
GF bread crumbs, GF flour, dairy substitutes.
It’s a good thing the food markets have broadened the supplies of all these specialties now.
Many years ago it was an effort to hunt alternatives. Farmers markets are now awesome too!
Even online shopping is a thrill finding so many marvels! Like those organic local Oz grown pumpkin seeds.
I make a conscious effort to buy as much local produce to support businesses.
I recall how small businesses decades ago had some amazing healthy products, but sadly closed down due to lack of interest.
People were just not ready for change.
Now it’s definitely desired!
It’s good to see many young ones keeping fit and enjoying better foods availed to us all.
I now make some amazing cakes without flours or dairy!
I used to like the convenience of buying cakes but my adult kids kept telling me to stop buying that rubbish. They are right, but gee, now IGA has this fresh cake display and the cannoli are hard to resist!
