Labor will lose seats at the next Federal election. Albanese is unpopular and I don’t think polling accurately reflects just how deeply unpopular he and his government really is. But given how many seats the ALP picked up at the last election, giving them a comfortable majority, it would have to be an electoral massacre for Labor to be kicked out. All I see happening at the next Federal election is Labor being reduced to a much smaller majority, but still having enough seats for an outright majority unfortunately.

Until the Opposition get their act together, Labor will easily retain the seats they have and potentially increase them. One Nation, I believe, has yet to peak but once it does, I believe they will fall back significantly. An interesting move that is being suggested is Barnaby Joyce quitting ON and either returning to the Nats or going Independent - it will be one or the other as he cannot afford not to be employed.

Hastie would be a fool to take on the poisoned chalice left behind by Morrison, Dutton and Ley - leave it for one more election cycle then pounce.

Most respectable polls show the recent changes to CGT on investment properties have been positively received by the people that matter - all those trying to buy a house. As far as I can judge, Labor appears to be doing most of the right things that will see it easily re-elected.

Two things that are holding the Opposition back are Angus and the idiotic whinger and “comedian” Dave Hughes. One will require a lot of soul searching for a potential replacement and the other one needs to be told to “sh#t in it” as his initial rise as a victim of property CGT on sale was a dead cat bounce when his actual wealth and holdings were made public.

So, on balance, another decisive win for Labor unless the Opposition can pull a rabbit out of the hat. Naturally things change rapidly and any change from the status quo can dramatically change an outcome

No, I’m sorry but Labor is going to lose seats at the next election. People are sick of Albo and Bowen and their insane push for renewables, of which the only effect it is having on households is to drive up electricity prices. Labor will lose seats, that’s a given. But I doubt it will be enough for them to be booted out of government unfortunately.
