Well he claims to own the cab business 'now'.
His drivers are likely junkies and alcoholics who can't get a decent job.
I did taxi. When I moved to a new area, I got to know everyone and the area quick by taxi.
I did it for fun, not to get rich. When the rich gave me a big tip, I gave the single mums a paid for free ride from the tips.

Yes. Even the wonderful Aborigines of Wreck Bay would say that i am "hard, but fair" and tip me often themselves. Especially when they found out that I always picked up the wandering Aborigine woman who had severe mental decline and let her travel for free.
Even a white couple in the back praised me (I asked them first) for picking her up for a few kilometres upon their fare.

Its all about character and Aussie has none, though he desperately tries to cheat at it.
