After working as a reporter in Atlanta for about 18 years, Guevara was arrested by Doraville police during his coverage of a No Kings protest in June 2025.Charges against him were dropped and he was taken into ICE custody in order to undergo deportation proceedings. The case was appealed and subsequently closed. Guevara held a work visa and had a pending green card application as of September 2025.[12][13]

The murderer - David Brouillette - is a real piece of work.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer who fatally shot a Colombian man in the US this week never should have been given a badge and gun, according to several close relatives.

They say David Brouillette, an army veteran who has struggled with serious mental health issues since early childhood, has a history of terrifying and violent behaviour.

Ashley Brouillette said she divorced Mr Brouillette after two years of marriage in 2009 because he had become physically violent with her after she got pregnant with their daughter.

Ashley Brouillette said Mr Brouillette once threw boiling water at her while she was holding their child. Her mother, Avis Collins, also recounted the incident.

The abuse continued after she left him, she said.

Mr Brouillette does not appear to have a criminal record in Maine, but hundreds of family court records obtained from the Augusta District Court detail years of allegations of physical and verbal abuse made by his second ex-wife on behalf of herself and his daughters.

The ex-wife — who is not identifying herself because she fears retaliation — alleged that he had stalked and harassed her and physically and verbally abused his daughter, according to multiple requests for temporary protection orders.

She said Mr Brouillette tackled his teenage daughter and smashed spaghetti in her hair, and during another outburst, he dragged his daughter around the house as she cried.

Lots of people are saying. They are saying about his mental health history, his level of violence, his racism. The people to report include his wife and x wife as well as other family members in cluding the x wifes mother. There are hundreds of court records of domestic violence.
