Of course it doesn't give you instant obedience
Instant obedience is what you need in the Army. You need to know that the diggers around you will do what they are told, when they are told. Tsk, tsk, tsk...
I meant discipline isn't instant not obedience.
Those who walk into a Dojo give instant obedience to their teachers the reason they went into a Dojo is to learn.
If they don't give instant obedience they are told to leave.
Sanchin is Brown Belt requirement you have to control breathing and perfect technique doing it while people are bashing you.
You have to remain focused on task while getting kicked and punched if you can't you fail they sit you down grading is over.
Black belt doesn't make you an expert it's just the beginning.
Nidan (2nd dan) is fighting
Sandan (3rd) is teaching (sensei)
Renshi 4th dan perfection with weapons
Shihan 5th perfection with everything.
Anything above 5th dan isn't related to technique it's how many Black belts your teaching has produced.
Danny was a Nidan joined the Army was selected for SAS when something like 1 in 100 get selected he aced it heard many stories.
Albert Jacka was our first VC the vast majority of people getting VC in my time are all SAS.
SAS celebrity TV show is a watered down version of real thing so people could actually pass it can't have everyone fail on TV before it ends not good for ratings.
All the Rugy players male and female who went on that show did very well.
We could say playing Rugby teaches people discipline obedience and teamwork which is what you can get in the army.
You're kidding yourself if you think the army is the only place you can learn obedience discipline and teamwork.
