Tanya Plibersek’s acceptance of a blue banded bee Dreaming story as central evidence for blocking the $1bn Blayney mine without independent scrutiny “lacked any rational basis” and its justification was contradicted by the department’s own evidence, says mining giant Regis Resources.

In her statement of reasons, Ms Plibersek suggested a mural in Bathurst of the blue banded bee Dreaming bolstered her decision. The mural, however, was made in consultation with the Wiradyuri Corporation, and designed during the decision-making process for the heritage order.

“The mural was just WTOCWAC’s own claim in the form of a painting,” Mr Herzfeld said. “There’s an entirely bootstrapping use of the mural. The minister used the mural as an independent source of corroboration ... where it in fact provided no independent support.”

Aboriginal superstitions lack any rational basis, yet are treated as sacred. Blue banded bee dreaming. You could make up such bollocks, yet it is treated by the minister as decisive. You graffiti a wall in Bathurst with blue bee bollocks and bingo! It's evidence of ancient superstitions that must not be interfered with lest you unleash the curse of the Pharaohs or some such malign spirits.

This woman - who calls herself Aunty Nyree Reynolds is not an Aboriginal. She's another Pascoe that has got Tanya Pliberseks ear & she has fallen for the bs of the Blue Banded Bee Dreaming story.

Nyree Reynolds alone lodged an application to protect an area under section 10 of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage Protection Act.

It was not the local Aboriginal group - the Wiradyuri Traditional Owners Central West Aboriginal Corporation - nor was it the members of the nearby Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council who had "never heard" of the Dreaming.

I hope Regis Resources are successful in overturning this terrible decision based on bs from a pretend Aboriginal.

Again - Whiter than me... I'm sort of olive and going darker with summer.... no known Aboriginal.... maybe from certain signs something else - but hell - not in the DNA.

The Federal Court has slapped down the Albanese government’s decision to block a $1.3bn gold mine project in Blayney, dissolving former Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek’s Indigenous heritage protection order over the site based on a contested Dreaming story.

The Wiradyuri Corporation’s claims of a blue-banded bee Dreaming story endemic to the Belubula River intersecting with the mine site were what ultimately persuaded Ms Plibersek to block the proposal.

That story was first detailed publicly in reasons by Ms Plibersek and revealed by The Australian two years to the day before Justice Stellios’ decision. It was first shared with Ms Plibersek in December 2023, emerging only after an independent investigator and the Environment Department had both dismissed the heritage claim.

Ms Plibersek went against their advice and blocked the project with limited public justification, waiting until October to give her detailed reasons for the decision. The heritage order covered the proposed site of the mine’s tailings dam, making the whole project unviable according to Regis.

In her statement of reasons, Ms Plibersek cited a blue-banded bee mural in Bathurst as central evidence of the story’s significance. The mural, however, was made in consultation with the Wiradyuri corporation, and designed during the decision-making process for the heritage protection order.

Senior Wiradjuri elders and the Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council denied the significance of the dreaming and the family of the elder who supposedly handed it down said they had never heard of it. DCCEEW staff said the Dreaming was never independently assessed.

NSW Premier Chris Minns ahead of the court decision on Wednesday said Ms Plibersek and the federal government had got it wrong on banning the mine.

The company should be able to sue for financial loss.

From a post on Reddit

‘’ From the article: Nyree Reynolds is an artist who describes herself as being a “very light skinned descendant” of a Wiradjuri woman “born in the 1820s”.

Ok, so let's do some basic maths. She had an aboriginal ancestor 200 years ago, no others more recently, or she would have mentioned them. If we generously assume 25 years per generation, then there's 8 generations between her and her ancestor. So, each generation, the aboriginal blood is diluted by 50%. By my calculation, she is approximately 0.002% aboriginal. If we allow for a more realistic 20 years per generation resulting in 10 generations, it drops her down to 0.00049% aboriginal. And that is who Tanya Plibersek listened to.

I pay respects to the Taiwanese children who built my calculator, past, present, and emerging’’

Sounds just like the BS they pulled with Mt Warning, which has also been overturned, after wasting millions of dollars of taxpayers money. Bureaucrats on their high horse wanting to shut down anything they can, and inventing some Aboriginal BS as a sacred cow to back themselves up.
