two lives at risk. The doctors are prevented from performing a procedure they've been doing for years - the termination of a dying baby at three months. The medical advice? Travel to another state for an abortion - quick.
Another woman suffers blood clots in her brain while nine weeks pregnant. She's declared brain-dead, spends 16 weeks on life support to support her baby. At six months, they deliver and turn off the machine, ending her life. Not even her parents could make that decision. The baby was born extremely premature - unknown prognosis or if they're disabled, the article doesn't say. At least two other women in Georgia have died after having medical terminations knocked back.
For the rest of us, citizens of a normal, full democracy, it's bleedingly obvious. It's obvious even in the most backward authoritarian states where medical abortions are permitted. To you?

The article's not about SCOTUS, it's about the politicization of wombs. The current federal administration's a joke - at best. At worst, they've made health care unaffordable for anyone without a job - such as young, pregnant women. And if you're young, pregnant and - ahem -
black, you've got a far higher chance of dying during childbirth, a problem the rest of the developed world seems to have solved.
