Republicans in Texas just screwed up when they redrew the electoral maps to give themselves five new seats at the midterms. What they didn't realise, until it was too late, was that in doing so they have made ten existing seats suddenly very much contested when they previously were not. This is a direct result of them redrawing the electoral maps at Trump's behest. Add to this the tit for tat changes in California by Gavin Newsom and growing anger over everything from ICE to grocery and health insurance price rises, and suddenly it's looking very much like Republicans are in deep, deep trouble when the midterms come around next year. I think it's very possible now that the Republicans could lose both the House and Senate, but very likely they will lose at least one of them. That will severely hobble Trump and his ability to do whatever the hell he wants. Smiley

Well, Bazza O'Bama had three terms and wanted a fourth.  Still wants a fkurth:

Kamala Harris: ‘I Am Not Done’ and May Run for President in 2028
“I am not done. I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it’s in my bones,” she told the BBC during an interview to be aired on “Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg.”

None of that matters much if Trump cancels the election in 2028.

I predict he'll rig the mid-terms and then cancel the general election.

I don't see how he can cancel the 2028 Presidential election. Sure, he has stacked the Supreme Court with people who he has hand picked, but I don't believe in my wildest dreams that they would ever allow him to cancel an election in order to remain in office. It would go against everything they ever stood for as jurists.

Is that like your predictions that you'd leave the forum if Trump won or run for the presidency, liar?

He isn't hobbled at all right now because too many Republicans are scared of him. Republicans (meaning Trump) control the House, the Senate and the White House. If the Democrats can take back the House, Trump becomes a lame duck President for the remainder of his term. Democrats would have the power to block him from carrying out his destructive and self-serving agenda, and could subpoena and investigate members of his administration. It would be a major disaster for Trump.

They can't physically stop him.

He just ignores the Constitution and all other laws.

The only way he can be stopped from murdering people in international waters, tearing down the White House, arresting innocent people off the street, etc. is if someone physically restrains him.

That's not going to happen.

Even if the Dems win back both houses, very little will change.

Sure, they'll impeach him again, but that won't stop him.

Of course not.

If he wants to cancel the election he'll just cancel it.

And if people find a way to vote, he'll just reject the results.

If enough Republicans look like they are in danger of losing their seats, they'll invoke the 25th Amendment and remove him from office. Their political survival will trump their loyalty to him - pun intended.

Will you leave immediately when it does not happen?

You have made two similar predictions now, but haven't been brave enough before. Roll Eyes

Remove him?  How?

If he says "I'm not going anywhere", what are they gonna do?

He won't be perp walked out of the White House.

The 25th Amendment can't remove him from office - only physical force can do that, and nobody is going to cuff him and make him leave.
