"A majority (55%) of all adults over 18 years old said they disapprove of the way Trump’s handling his job as president."

Donald J. Trump (adjudicated rapist and convicted felon), 2013:

"A shutdown falls on the president's lack of leadership. I mean the top, and they have to get solved from the top.

"A shutdown means the President is weak."

Despite the shutdown, JD Vance is still on the job.

… and more importantly he is still being paid, as are all politicians. Perhaps if they also had to forego their pay as all other federal workers do, shutdowns would be a thing of the past?

Yes, indeed.

Then JD could get back to his real passion.

This is such a win for Trump.
Firstly Trump NEEDS an enemy to fight against or he looks lame.

Secondly, the idea of illegals getting free health care when so many hard working Americans are bankrupted by health bills is such a WINNER for the big fella.

Add in this gives him a chance to not pay and to make redundant public servants.

Wow

Donny has created a win win win.

Stupid democrats....the gift that just keeps giving

That's why the lie works so well.

It's complete bullshit, false from top to bottom.

But MAGA don't care what's true, they revel in being the victim and pointing the finger at someone else. Reality doesn't matter as long as they feel like they're "winning," even if the cost is their own livelihoods.

And Scoot, you should recognise this because it describes you perfectly. Trump's supporters don't measure him by what he delivers for them, they measure him by the punishment he dishes out to people they despise. That's why they can watch him lie without flinching. That's why they call him successful. And that's why they'll never abandon him.

His tormenting of "others" is their fuel, even as they lose their farms, their jobs, their food stamps, and their healthcare.

Incorrect.

I measure him by his competancy and effectiveness. On both  measures he is worth studying.

On both measures, he's failing.  It might be worth studying, but he's not been doing well.

Depends who is assessing it.

If you are an illegal or a public servant, you might think he isn't doing well
But that's just narcissism and self interest talking.

To many " real " americans , he is doing the right thing.

You need to study more then your own biases roo

As do you,
Just in one situation, brought on by trump himself,he is going to cost the US taxpayer $ 80 billion, go read the soya bean thread to see why.
You call that doing well?
Grin : Grin Grin Grin

Trump has rewritten the dictionary, under the word incompetence there is now a picture of trump.

Only you would still believe he is doing well, certainly nearly 60% of Americans say the shut down and economy are trumps doing , the many you claim believe he is doing well are dyed in the wool trump voters, which only account for around 35% of voters. Once again you prove that you have little understanding of people , the word salads you write are not really salads, they have more in common with tripe.

Indeed, you're 100% correct.

And even Trump himself says he is to blame for the shutdown.

Donald J. Trump (adjudicated rapist and convicted felon), 2013:

"A shutdown falls on the president's lack of leadership. I mean the top, and they have to get solved from the top.

"A shutdown means the President is weak."

In the face of a shutdown, Trump needed to bring all parties together and negotiate.

He can't do that though - he has no idea how to negotiate.

His idea of negotiating is:

Trump: "I want you to do it my way".

Others: "Well, let's see if we can all make some compromises and try to get the best result for everyone".

Trump: "Nah, that's too hard, and I've always had my own way since the day I was born.  I'm going home, seeya!"

Slimming the public service and blaming the Dumb Dems for it.
Genius.

The 'shut down' is of non-essential public servants only, btw.

Between 2016 and 2020 Trump proved to be the single worst President to ever hold office or at least to attempt to hold office. He isn't doing anywhere near as well this time.

Sad really.

Cheer up

Brace yourself, America: the federal government has been shut down. Congress will no longer be able to pass any bills and all federal agencies will grind to a halt. But, there will also be some very serious consequences.

Here are the 7 most terrifying:

The Capitol cafeteria will not be able to serve Ted Cruz his customary afternoon Ho Hos: Devastating.

That department you've never heard of that does nothing for you will be furloughed: You can kiss the Commission on Overseas Native Fisheries goodbye.

Government workers will lose thousands of hours of sleep they would otherwise be getting at work: No one wants to sleep on their own time.

Rand Paul will be intolerably giddy: He's so annoying when he gets like that.

AOC will have to go back to bartending, but she doesn't know how to make a rum and coke: It's a tough recipe.

Instead of shopping online while "working from home," government employees will have to shop online while furloughed at home: Brutal.

No one will be able to unlock the restrooms at Yosemite National Park: It is literally impossible to evacuate your bowels without government support.

If you are reading this, there is still time. Please, go back to your emergency bunkers and hold your loved ones close as you ride out the storm of a government shut down. It's going to be a rough ride. DO NOT — REPEAT — DO NOT EXIT YOUR BUNKER FOR ANY REASON. The consequences could be dire

Trump is innocent - the Democrats caused the shutdown.

Did Trump cause the shutdown as a distraction from the Epstein files?

Robert Morris, a former Trump campaign spiritual adviser, pleads guilty to child sex abuse

Former megachurch pastor Robert Morris, who was once a campaign spiritual adviser to President Donald Trump, pleaded guilty Thursday to sexually abusing a child.

Morris, a founding pastor of the Dallas-based Gateway megachurch — one of the country’s largest — was accused by an Oklahoma woman, Cindy Clemishire, of sexual abuse in the 1980s, beginning when she was 12 and continuing until the age of 16.

Morris, 64, pleaded guilty in Osage County District Court to five felony counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child. He was given a 10-year suspended sentence but was ordered to serve six months in the Oklahoma county’s jail.

As part of his plea deal, Morris must register as a sex offender and pay $250,000 in restitution.

Why are so many child rapists closely associated with Donald Trump?
