The general answer is that, historically, Jews would hire only Jews to work in their communities. They were seen as financially careful with their money. And they were not really an asset to the greater community throughout Europe.

Prior to WW2, the Nazis put Jews among the list of people that caused Germany to lose WW1. I have read (and I forget the source) that Jews were so over the war, that they conspired to have the war end in defeat to allow for their businesses to regain profitability.

These days, the hatred of Jews is more about the issue of Israel being among the Arab states. Whatever the intentions of Arabs towards Israel, they use the Jews issue as a way of rallying Muslim extremists to fight Israel.

I have two books sitting in my room on the issue, and I have not read either one.

Even Israeli anthropologists largely agree that their slavery in Egypt and Moses are myths.

A theory that has gained traction is that the ancestors of Jews were probably an underclass, though not a slave class as such, whose subsect of Egyptian mainstream religion, with its worship of one god, put them at odds with Egyptian society, such that they moved away from or were edged out of Egyptian-controlled regions over a few generations, finding themselves entering non-Egyptian lands, like Canaan.

Ah so. That, and Moses needed an exit from Egypt after he murdered a high-ranking Gyppo.

We will make the slave class great again, no?

Eurotrash again... and I don't just mean their currency as it will go in time..  Jah, Hans - one million euros for one loaf of bread ... I blame der Chews in Israel, neh?  Once they left the economy went down .. you know always they got historically the best of everything... a nice resort on the Mediterranean and we pay the costs now with MEtrash ......

Yuri and his friend Andrei stand with the villagers in the falling snow outside the Kommissar's warm office.... waiting for the daily delivery of bread..

At midday, the Kommissar comes out:-

"Komrades... bad news - not enough bread coming today  for everyone - so ALL JEWS go home without bread NOW!"

The Jews all leave.. the villagers stand in the snow... waiting..

Four o'clock and nearing winter sunset - the Kommissar comes out again:-

"Komrades- bad, bad news - is not truck coming today - so no bread!  All villagers go home now without bread!"

Yuri turns to his friend and says:-

"Yu see what always I am telling you?  The Jews always get the best of everything!"

They were probably more like the Romani, whose ancestry has now been traced to the Indian subclass 'untouchables' who moved into Europe almost at the same time as Jews were expelled from Judea, Samaria and Galilee.

The Romani were given an Egyptian origin story by Europeans, hence Gypsies.

Perhaps, but the Jews are most forthright with their historical precedents and ancestral origins. Names and clans are rather important in Semitic lands, where all men, descendant or slave, come from a house. The Saudis, the Houthis, the various Emiratis, etc - all have tribal roots. Other rulers form their power base in a place - in the case of the Ba'athist Saddam, Tikrit. Traditionally, these families and clans controlled the water holes and trade roots in the Bedouin way, far older than Islam and even civilisation.

The empires patched themselves onto this tapestry of clans and rival families. The house of David was no different to any other Semitic tribe, other than the belief that they had God on their side. Muhammed wised up to this, and established his own religion. Part mystic, part power-broker, he founded another patch, sewing up the tribal factions and even the empires.

The Ottoman Empire, largely secular, was considered the heir of the Roman Empire for many years, due to its control of the former Roman capital, Byzantium. While the Europeans fought their way through the middle ages and reformation, the Ottomans largely kept the pax Romana.

Muhammed's descendents, known as Sharifs, created their own movable kingdoms - the Alaouites, supposedly descended from Moh's cousin Ali, now rule Morocco. The Hashemite now rule Jordan. After they were defeated in Arabia by the tribal house of Saud, King Abdullah was given a chunk of Transjordan by the British.

During the Jewish insurgency post-WWII, the Brits far preferred dealing with King Abdullah, his son Hussein and the Jordanians. Many were British-educated. Most civilised, they drank pink gin and danced the foxtrot. Their friendship with the Jordanians saved the colonists from dealing with the Jewish settlers, the majority of them temperamental Eastern Europeans.

You get that. The Holocaust wasn't nice. Still, they didn't have to take it out on the Brits, no? Before they were nation-builders, the settlers were naughty old terrorists, galvanised by their uprising in the Warsaw ghetto.

FD's question misses the point, as he is wont to do. Historically, Jews base their existence on an aversion to kings and kingdoms. The prophet Yeheshua, an Essene, said the Kingdom lies within. Jesus was referencing Jewish dogma. Judaism wasn't a place, it was a culture, a religion, a people.

The state of Israel was never a creation of the Jews - it was founded by Zionists, post-Enlightenment socialists. They had no connection to the region. This was no problem for past rulers of Palestine, which has been controlled by foreigners for most of its history. Brits, Ottomans, Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Syrians, Assyrians and empires now forgotten - Jerusalem has probably changed hands more than any other city on earth.

Like its neighbours Lebanon and Jordan, the state of Israel was created out of thin air. Unlike its neighbours, who's inhabitants had lived on their land for generations, it was a nation ruled, and is now largely populated, by immigrants.

Only the Zionists didn't just immigrate, they sent the locals packing. A huge chuck of Lebanon and Jordan's populations consist of displaced Palestinians. The Zionists, contrary to all the mandates, charters and UN resolutions, created a militaristic, immigrant ethno-state. Today, they're expanding - conquering Lebanon, having taken the West bank, Gaza, with their eyes on parts of Syria and Anatolia.

Israel has now given up the facade of being a law-abiding ex-British colony and UN member. Its leader Bibi is a wanted war criminal, and Israel shows no signs of reforming. A majority of Israeli voters support the displacement of Palestinians and the invasion of Lebanon. Israel has effectively become a rogue state.

That's what you get with failed democracies, eh? Ask FD where Israel rates on the Freeeeedom Index. We asked him about the US once.

Strange. FD wouldn't say.

You?

Like David?

The two books of Kings present a history of ancient Israel and Judah, from the death of King David to the release of Jehoiachin from imprisonment in Babylon—a period of some 400 years (c. 960 – c. 560 BC).

The Jerusalem Bible divides the two Books of Kings into eight sections:

1 Kings 1:1–2:46. The Davidic succession
1 Kings 3:1–11:43. Solomon in all his glory
1 Kings 12:1–13:34. The political and religious schism
1 Kings 14:1–16:34. The two kingdoms until Elijah
1 Kings 17:1 – 2 Kings 1:18. The Elijah cycle
2 Kings 2:1–13:25. The Elisha cycle
2 Kings 14:1–17:41. The two kingdoms to the fall of Samaria
2 Kings 18:1–25:30. The last years of the kingdom of Judah

That's right, FD, like David.

Tell us all about the Jewish diaspora again, dear. For a while there, it was your stock answer to a host of curious questions.

When you're done with that, remind us all about the only functioning democracy in the middle east again.
