When I watched it I found out the real cost of the amnesty bins for machetes.
I thought they were

as reported by the MSM.

BTW. Was watching Dexter recently and someone grabbed a fire tool as a weapon… it’s the same fave one I have in my sight. FYI they are available for about $16 in Bunnings.

Walking stick is around same length as a Hanbo which is a short 3ft stick.

Have a look on youtube for "Hanbo" with added words being staff and jutsu or even vs knife.

Don't look at any of the fancy single handed strikes you might not get enough power with them look at the strikes with 2 hands holding hanbo. With both hands holding it if they grab it you can twist their wrist so they let go then strike with pointy end.

Hanbo is probably the most versatile wooden weapon you can fight at longer range where they can't hit you use it to strike wrist if they punch or jam pointy end into shin/foot if they try to kick.
If you get into closer range it can be a lever to help with grappling

Hanbo is one of the few martial arts weapons that isn't a Prohibited weapon in NSW. Wink

Don't look at any of the fancy single handed strikes you might not get enough power with them look at the strikes with 2 hands holding hanbo. With both hands holding it if they grab it you can twist their wrist so they let go then strike with pointy end.

Hanbo is probably the most versatile wooden weapon you can fight at longer range where they can't hit you use it to strike wrist if they punch or jam pointy end into shin/foot if they try to kick.
If you get into closer range it can be a lever to help with grappling

Hanbo is one of the few martial arts weapons that isn't a Prohibited weapon in NSW. Wink

First…I’m against war of any kind….conscientious objector I am…went to protests in my youth in the 70s …Vietnam War moratorium via Dr. Jim Cairns.
I’ve protested all nighters on parliament steps with many Melbournians against our dictator Mad Dan wanting to mandate injections upon everyone.
I’ve walked and rallied to vote the majors out.
That’s all we can do…but mainly…vote these majors OUT! They’ve had too much power for too dam long!
Our votes are what we can do for change.

Hanbo is legal in Vic as well they just happen to be similar length to walking stick, make sure it has tough handle or ball end. Wink

If you learn the basic strikes it can level the playing field a bit some of the single hand strikes might not be enough for grandmothers so look at double handed stuff.
The strikes with pointy end are good just aim for soft spots.

Strategy is simple whack them and don't stop whacking them until they can't continue.

I had sparring sessions with unarmed 4th and 5th dans when i was a Brown belt with a Hanbo it wasn't even close they couldn't do anything.

You can defend like this to inside or outside of attack i suggest staying outside keep your distance so they can't strike you. By attacking the hand/wrist/fingers of weapon hand it helps you stay out of range.

Hanbo is really good watch some youtube videos to learn the strikes. i did some classes with Masaaki Hatsumi who is in this pic.

I’m really pleased to have that little knowledge of doing something in case of any attack. I’m not one to suffer bystander effect.
It’s like I go in fast motion and everyone else is in slo mo. I get very loud and bossy when things are in emergency mode. It’s like people need directing. My daughter says the psycho part comes out in me in fight or flight mode Grin

and that can’t be a bad thing…when needed for courage.
It’s my upbringing….I was I fight or flight mode a lot…not a good thing then as when father drank too much…well…lucky my younger brother by 5 years would run and hide but I didn’t.
Because of my hearing problem, I’ve developed more awareness visually, for attitudes, and predicting movement.
And yes, aiming for the hands, wrists, fingers is exactly how I envisioned it.
You sound quite an interesting person Mr. B. Know a lot of stuff.

Hanbo is my favourite wooden weapon. I do have a wooden practice sword which some have used on home invaders with excellent non lethal results.

If they try to kick you jam the pointy end into shins or top of foot.

A Renshi 4th Dan gave me a rubber knife in class for a demonstration he threw a front kick at me i stepped back at 45 deg like footwork in picture and slashed right down his leg. He smiled bowed and that was that.
If you have a weapon attack the arm or leg they stick out keep out of range so they can't hit you

If you ever sneak up on someone don't look at them look past them.
Have you ever been somewhere and sensed someone is looking at you turned around and there was someone checking you out?
That is why you don't focus on someone while sneaking up on them. Wink

Tonight’s news… this young female walking home from work (sushi shop) and a random attack happens.
The area apparently has turned to shyte since there’s a half way house in area.
This nutter woman stabbed that young female unprovoked, from behind.
The nutter was let out on bail.
What defence do people have against this?
Judges/courts and bail fail?
