So what if his ancestor was a Leb - he was reacting to the imputation that somehow that made a difference, when to him it does not -

Violence is not a sane reaction to sounds coming out of someone's mouth.

He is an insane, dangerous, self-confessed criminal.

Lock the bastard up.

Sovereign citizen.

There was a video of the Victorian bloke hassling his neighbours - and for a 'sovereign citizen' he was quick to say he would go after them in the courts for harassing him ...

Apparently the idea is that a Sovereign citizen can pick and choose which laws he/she will accept ... now I can understand that given some of the 'laws' our politicians make up in their wet dreams... look at 'land right's laws and stuff and the way that has been progressively perverted into something it never was at the beginning... look at 'violence' laws that are themselves imposition of violence to cure violence - a total oxymoron...

When legislators and the laws they create are wrongful - it is a duty to oppose and reject those laws.

The problem then seems to be that some are saying - 'all or nothing'.... so instead of opposing specific 'laws' that are wrongful, they just reject the lot.  It's the modern way of trying to see everything as black or white.

Then the hypocrisy begins when they feel entitled to use laws when they feel like it, but not when they don't.

Politicians, of course - are the absolute Sovereign Citizens - they feel they are above the law in their making of laws..... and in many ways in this country they are .... understand the difference?

I think this 'sovereign citizen' cult is one way of people expressing their discontent with what our Poor Fellow - My Country has become.  The Cheers of course try to use it to say they don't accept Whartey's law since they never gave up the sovereignty they never had (like that concept of gold at the Agnew Mine) .. maybe that guy felt pissed off that he couldn't make a land claim and get grift for nothing or something... maybe he thought he was taking a stand against the Jacinta Alien style of government by killing cops... resisting tyranny as he saw it...

Perhaps we - as a Nation - need to restore the democratic process to the hands of the people and restore equal rights for all instead of this insane identity politics.  Every time you see some sheila 'CEO' for example - do you REALLY think she is better or best for the job?  Or is she there because the companies feel intimidated and will be called misogynists and similar if they put a bloke there?

What kind of government is that?

From the idiot's son:

Robbie Katter said it was difficult for him to comprehend why the incident was "such a big deal", saying his father is 80 and "not entirely physically threatening".

The "big deal" is the fact that he's admitted to having a violent criminal past:

"Don't say that! Because that irritates me, and I've punched blokes in the mouth for saying that."

Punching someone in the face is a criminal offence.

Katter sounds a bit old fashioned, like an Aussie.
My kind of bloke, our society needs more bunches of fives and less bunches of’’feel goody’’ violets.

Katter does occasionally stumble into a moment of clarity, but watching him lose his mind at the suggestion that he too descends from immigrants is telling. It lays bare that when he talks about "real Australians", he's not talking about everyone, just a narrow, exclusionary club of his own imagining.

That's the real story here. The rage isn't about history, it's about the insecurity of someone who can't reconcile his own ancestry with the fantasy he pushes. And of course, the usual suspects are lining up to defend him, because admitting the obvious would unravel the whole charade.

That said, I still like Katter.  I've not had the opportunity to vote for him in the HOR, but there are worse candidates.

You think violence is a sane reaction to a question?

You think more violence in society is a good thing?

Katter has confessed to several violent crimes under Section 245 of QLD's Criminal Code 1899.

"I have on many occasions, punched blokes in the mouth."

He needs to be removed from parliament as it is not a safe workplace while he is there.

This is totally unacceptable.

There is no excuse whatsoever for his behaviour.

His going with the “ Im the victim here “ response.

I have to ask in what other workplace in Australia would his actions not have him facing serious consequences?

Politicians really are  the worse people!

Unless you can find a way to earn a minimum of $300000 a year in Australia you’re screwed.

Don’t even think about being able to afford children at that  bare minimum threshold.

In any other workplace he would be summarily dismissed for serious misconduct.

The threat he made to the journalist was bad enough, but he has also confessed to several violent crimes.

He needs to be removed immediately.

Ain't that the truth.

There is no greater brawn over brains region in Aus, but it's a necessity to survive up there.

Indeed.

They're quite insane, and often very violent up there.
