Location is definitely a big issue.

The further you located away from Sydney the less assistance you will ever receive from the government.

Interesting that you will still pay exactly the same amount of tax just not receive any assistance.

If Taree was located say, where Bondi is you would have Minns doing a live interview standing knee deep in the flood water declaring a state of emergency and promises of tens of millions in aid.

Where is Minns anyway?

Tens of hundreds of thousands NSW citizens are being impacted by flooding and his gone missing in action?

Maybe like tens of thousands he didn’t get to work today on public transport
Because his train network failed …..again.

Seriously corrupt Glady failed Lismore in the flood aftermath now Minns is missing during the Mid North Coast floods!

Senator the Hon Jenny McAllister as Minister for Emergency Management has declared Minns a Disaster Area with trains in bottlenecks, railway traffic jams and blocked toilets due to passenger reactions.  As a result, Taree is declared cancelled and phone-calls  will be monitored up to 2 hours between 11pm and 3 am.

Well - I did offer to set up and run the emergency response network - given a cadre of ten picked people.... and about two star rank for me ... and the right to create direct links to all emergency services for 'co-operation'....

So they thought about it and gave it as a sinecure to yet another dopey sheila with no idea .. thus far in THIS crisis we haven't heard one word from the 'commissioner' appointed.

Someone said the Army was on alert - people in Taree are asking why they aren't there yet - well the roads are closed and it takes time to organise such things anyway... also budgetary constraints make it difficult to even chopper in supplies and help... supplies should be all right for most... watch for the looters - a bottle-o went under - and every Usual Suspect kid in Taree will be down there when the waters recede... mum and dad will probably drive them there ....  Wink  good role modelling.

...

That will stop your house floating away.

There's an embankment nearly high enough, 2km long. So a .5 x.2 metre wall is 200cu m concrete. Cheap.

Maybe it’s time to move a few towns to higher ground or to build massive levees, either way it’ll eventually save money and lives.

Towns built on flood plains or that nice very level land beside rivers are in the wrong place.

We can confirm a Labor leader sighting!!!

Missing Minns has been sited leaving a focus group that decided his complete failure to run Sydney trains is much better vote winner if he gives a interview about how he can’t manage public transport then the complete destruction of the Mid North Coast under flood.

When question why he has failed to declare a emergency zone over the region metres under water he reply.

Isn’t Port Macquarie in Qld?
I’m not responsible for interstate matters.

Levees didn't help N'Orleans down in The Big Easy - once the water flooded in - it couldn't flood out!

I'm afraid the towns will have to be moved to the heights, all new construction will have to be in them thar hills - and that prime farming land in 'the bottoms' will have to be returned to farming and grazing.

I'm afraid some National Parks - New Abo Lands - are going to have to make way for towns now - we need all the space we can get to shove in the Indians and Pakis etc and to assist in the Australian Flood leaving the cities......

Might have to consider changing Melbadishu to Melbai or something... to keep up with changes... Brisdrain to Brisbanore/Brisbadesh or something..

“ Access to disaster funding has been activated at the state and federal levels.”

“Smh

Finally the politicians have actually done their job!

Watch closely they keep working. A simple step by Mid North Coast Council would be too cease all tip fees when eventually the clean up begins.

Rather than just rebuild they need to rebuild better.

This is a concept beyond their limited intelligence.

'A stormwater drain back-up valve, also known as a backwater valve, is a device installed on your main drain pipe to prevent stormwater or sewage from flowing back into your home or building during a flood or other drain backup situation. These valves are designed to allow water to flow out of the building but automatically close to block backflow when water pressure is reversed.'

$3.73 at Bunnings or 45 cents DIY.

“ In Kempsey, the Macleay River has breached the levee, triggering evacuation orders in the CBD, while the rising Hastings River in Port Macquarie has forced residents in low-lying areas to flee. “

Levees, that’s part of the arguments for the class action against the Nsw government over the flooding of woodburn and Broadwater in the 2022 flood.

The new pacific highway was misconstrued in such a way it created a huge levee forcing water away from the marsh and swamp lands it had always dispersed into.

I often wonder why these court cases receive zero news coverage?

Coffs harbours and surrounded areas are flooding badly now.

Does anyone know how people can apply for help from the Federal and State governments?

Or is that going to be kept a big secret?

We’ve got floods around Australia at the moment with people in desperate need of help..

We’ve got sections of Australia in massive drought in desperate need of help..

Where’s albozo?

If the PM were a Liberal jet-setting around the world talking about his single mum and council flat during these extreme emergencies, the media would be in meltdown…

But not a word from these treacherous scumbags…

Where are those affected swamps & marshland being blocked by the M1.?

From Casino to Ballina along the whole route of the Richmond river it is all cleared agricultural land.

Of course. This evasive government could care less about regional Australians,  it's all about swilling dirty chai lattes with hipsters in Darlinghurst.
