Mid North Coast Floods- Lismore not again!

If you aren’t aware the Mid North Coast of NSW is currently under water breaking all flood records.

Pacific highway is cut by flooding near Taree.

Being aware of the two years it took before any worthwhile assistance from government agencies reached Lismore and surrounds I have chosen to be proactive.

I rang the Federal member Dr David Gillespie and was advised the Federal government cannot assist until the NSW state government declares a disaster.
I rang the Nsw state member Mrs Tanya THOMPSON who advised the state government cannot do anything until the local government submitted a required form.
I rang the Mid North Coast Council Mayor Claire Pontin and asked if the form had been submitted. She had no idea about the form or if it was being prepared but assured after some encouragement by myself she would try and find out if anyone knows.

Let us now watch and wait and hope it doesn’t take two years as it did for Lismore to achieve assistance.

It’s now in writing and clock is ticking.

All levels of government and the politicians I have contacted should be aware that they are being closely scrutinised from this moment on.

In the meantime I wish all those flooding safety and highland.

The water level was extremely high A nice part of the country - I wish them all well.

A update.
Just spoke to the head of the department of Mid North Council responsible for completing the “form “.

No “form “ has been completed nor can he advised when it might be.

He did advise as seen with TC Alfred the state government is able too declare a disaster without the “form “ but hasn’t.

Mrs Tanya THOMPSON appears to be mistaken.
I will ring the premier office now and seek clarification.

I will not let those suffering this flood event suffer for two years as the people of Lismore did.

And if they do. The media can read this thread and timeline and identify EXACTLY who is too blame for the mismanagement.

Up there in Mau Mau Country - the Taree Aquatic and Rowing clubs are flooded into their first floors, it's up to the library on the main street and low lying parts of other streets are under water, Wingham is cut off, Old Bar is cut off, the Highway is closed north of the Taree turnoff - two nights ago it started to flood down in that hollow near Macca's ...

This is the Taree bridge!! And Minnsing Minns hasn't yet declared an emergency.

Take care up that way - no SES boats will be out endangering their lives in that!

The train failure was caused by a fallen wire needing requisition GH-675 (2a) to the Deputy Sub-Machinist, Railway Systems Perth WA. This was handled by NSW Local Power Analyst & Overhead Cable Wattage and Chewing Gum, Mt Druitt. Duplicates were to be signed by Carriage, Electro-Server and OHS (Chief Assistant in Command) and Parliamentary Coffee, Cabs and Cabbage (Main Under Secretary) who was unavailable due to Taree flooding.

The Premier office is unfortunately unattended and I had to leave a voicemail.

I appreciate NSW is almost bankrupt but I would expect they could afford one person to answer the phone?

Perhaps Minns is making a announcement and he requested all his staff standing behind him?

Maybe they have all gone out for a long drunken lunch?

Maybe they are working from the home ?

Senator the Hon Jenny McAllister as Minister for Emergency Management has declared Minns a Disaster Area with trains in bottlenecks, railway traffic jams and blocked toilets due to passenger reactions. As a result, Taree is declared cancelled and phone-calls will be monitored up to 2 hours between 11pm and 3 am.

Lismore is 350 klms north of Taree.

Taree is 130 klm north of Newcastle.

Lismore is definitely situated in the wrong place....

128 floods in 135 years & some years multiple floods.
