It says 'immigration cuts', dork-head. If it impacts more on Asians and Indians(sic) that is because the majority have been coming from there.  There's nothing 'discriminatory' about it.

How many Indians get PR in Canada every year?
More and more Indians are getting permanent residency (PR) in Canada, and here’s the scoop:

India has long been a significant contributor to the diverse mosaic of cultures in Canada. With the rising trend of Indians seeking Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada, it’s crucial to explore the factors influencing this migration and understand the dynamics of the process.

Recent Stats:
2023: Over 437,000 new permanent residents, along with over 604,000 temporary workers, were admitted and helped to fill job vacancies in health care, the trades, and the technology sector, and helped rebalance our country’s aging population.

2022: A whopping 118,095 Indians got PR, making them the largest group coming to Canada. China, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and the Philippines follow.

2021: The numbers jumped to 127,940 Indians receiving PR, up from 42,870 in 2020. The pandemic caused some delays in processing.

2020: Due to pandemic-related delays, only 42,870 Indians received PR.

Overall Trend:
Since 2013, the number of Indians getting PR has more than tripled, showing a whopping 260% increase. This surge reflects Canada’s focus on attracting skilled workers and dealing with labor shortages, aligning with the profiles of many Indian applicants.

To achieve this, immigration levels need to be around 2.1%, as outlined in a report by the country’s leading lender. Australia's population is growing faster than Canada's.

From 1970 to 2024 Australia's population grew x2.12 compared to Canada x1.85.

My personal experience: white Australian male with two degrees, based on 3 entries into Canada 1990, 2001, 2008 is that Canada's immigration officials are very nasty people and are obstructive even if the applicant's documents are perfectly in order. They deliberately use intimidation to unsettle the applicant in an interrogation.

I watched Canadian immigration official obstruct a white American for over one hour before they granted him entry. He told me he was accustomed to this and was quite nonchalant.

I never had any trouble entering the USA in 1981, 1989, 2001, 2008, 2010. Less than a minute each time.

I can't understand why Canada's immigration officials are so nasty.
