Censorship on social networks
Sep 29th, 2024 at 11:22am

The Australian authorities want to introduce fines for digital platforms that, according to the authorities, are not effectively combating so-called "disinformation". If the law is adopted, social networks could be fined up to 5% of their annual turnover.

WTf?

Sooo... this puts all information in the country under state control?. "The Ministry of Truth" has received very broad powers....

Is this really happening? Here, in Aus... "the best country in the world"?

In the UK riots the police eventually gave the boy's name to show  he was not Islamic and had UK parents.
Simple and cheap.

Politicians and advertisers are biggest misinformants there are considering how often they give promises they don't keep.

I doubt that they censor themselves  though.

Well, some utter filth and degradation of human spirit and body MUST be banned - not just censored.

Think of Justice Lee now - raised an ardent Catholic boy by the gentle fathers... and look what he perceived The Deuce was on 'that night' - overcome with lust and going to have his way... it was all on film, wasn't it... for someone to arrive at such a conclusion.... must have been.....

There is something badly wrong with a significant proportion of the populace these days.... must be the water... but clearly when they see criminals and total arschlocks profiting mightily .... no wonder everyone thinks that a lack of values is the way to go....

Just look around you - all the Infantile Rebels grab at Gazans vilely murdering Jews to blame Jews; take the position that butchering children's bodies is right and proper and any opposition to it is vile; figure that Blacks and ethnics should have every demand met regardless of anything else and especially of what harm it causes others for no reason, and using that to motivate themselves to greater excess and anti-social behaviour and ‘justify’ that .......

The Infants just love to take the absolutely indefensible position so as to be able to cry about 'being under attack' all the time.... this Madness can only be the result of too much social media etc, and too much pampering and Mummy and Daddy  never saying NO.

Time for some stern measures, methinks. Cool

Well, THIS is well overdue, The LIES that have been posted on the internet - from vaccinations causing autism. to wind turbines causing "brain cancer"

These scare campaigns are something NO ONE woud "try on" - or get away with in the print media

Not a large percentage, but still thousands of individuals took this autism furphy,
But it wasn't these cultist sheep that paid the price - but their children, in a surge in measles and whooping cough, childhood diseases that had all but been eradicated.
This rubbish was mostly started and spread over the internet by one Robert Kennedy Junior.

An internet pro-fossil and pro-gas lobby - with a large internet following, financially backed by 'big gas' - successfully lobbied Australia's first one term Baillieu Government, to shut down all renewable energy - in favour of returning to coal and gas energy

All bullsh!t and fake research, of course - but it caused Victoria's new renewable energy developments ti be shut down for four years.

These are just a couple of examples where allowing lies to be published on the internet can cause a lot of damage

It's good move - and not before time

Political parties, can at best, only state INTENT based on conditions of the moment - and conditions DO CHANGE.

If politicians could be fined for breaking an election policy "promise" - you'd find no politician or party would put forward policy "promises" - at ALL.

So I only take them as aspirational policy - not promises

We now know that the LibNats multi-bilion upon multi-bilion nuclear power plants scattered all over the country is not even 'aspirational' - as they've realised even the expense of COSTING such a dodo of projects is pouring water down the toilet.

When I'm deciding how to cast my vote - I go with general ethics, morality - and my own gut feeling.

A prime example, where the post (lie) claiming he was a Muslim should have been removed by the platform's host IMMEDIATELY.

The responsibility should NEVER have lain with the police

Do they have to be censored like everybody else or not?
