You've already retired ... never held a steady job, have dependency & mental health issues.

Work commitments are about 30 hours a week. That is 2 hours prior to work for preparation. One hour after work to wind down. Then it is my usual work hours of 3 to 5 hours a day anywhere from 3 to 6 days a week. So, I could be working 10 hours a week. Or I could be working up to 30 hours a week.

The most work I have done in a 24 hour period is about 15 hours. So, that is 15 + 2 hours preparation + 1.5 hours for lunch and a break + 1 hour wind down before I went to bed. That was a 19 hour day. I got paid the 15 hours. I slept the 6 hours and then did a 4 hour shift the next day. Best pay I have ever gotten since the year 2010.

However, because of my health concerns (which have only abated in the last month or so), I had to wind back my hours until I snapped out of my "self-medication" issues. By the time I finish my leave, I should have lost the remainder of my obesity.

Yes, we are doing that by increasing the retirement age. However, this is not always possible with every profession, esp those with higher physical demand.

They merely put a hypothetical ceiling number with no real policy to ensure how that number is going to be enforced. That is the reality. We are a service based economy with an Ageing population. Service economy need people to service and to supply those services. There is no green, blue, or red ways to get around it.
