Australia's Best Supermarket Has Been Revealed
Aug 23rd, 2024 at 1:27pm

Australia's best supermarket has been revealed - and it's NOT Coles or Woolworths
Aldi has been crowned Australia's best supermarket   Smiley

Daily Mail
22 August 2024
Aldi has been named Australia's best-rated supermarket for the seventh consecutive year.   Smiley

The German supermarket giant was crowned with the prestigious Most Satisfied Customers Award as part of Canstar Blue's Supermarket Satisfaction Ratings for 2024.

Aldi towered over competitors by receiving stellar five-star ratings across all seven categories - including value for money, freshness of produce, product range, checkout experience and customer service.

This is Aldi's twelfth win since Canstar's Supermarket Satisfaction Ratings began in 2011.

Simon Padovani-Ginies, Group Director for Aldi Australia, said Aldi is proud to have maintained its leadership and satisfaction for customers at a time when they need it the most.

'Being credited as the only five-star rated supermarket for overall satisfaction shows our day-in-day-out commitment to delivering market-leading prices on high quality goods is resonating with our shoppers,' he said.

'Customers deserve great value for money and quality products when shopping for groceries, so this is a proud win for Aldi and our many Australian business partners who always aim to exceed the expectations of our shoppers with the excellent products on our shelves.

'This award win would not have been possible without the support of our loyal customers. We want to assure them that our Price Promise remains as firm today as it always has - we won't be beaten on the cost of the weekly shop.

Aldi Australia was crowned with the prestigious Most Satisfied Customers Award at Canstar Blue's Supermarket Satisfaction Ratings for 2024

'We take this commitment seriously and every day, every element of our business is oriented around how we can deliver Australia's lowest prices, especially now at a time when families need it most,' he continued.

'We look forward to continuing to keep our customers satisfied with our Good Different shopping experience.'

Last month Aldi Australia once again shut down rumours of plans to offer online shopping.

For years customers have wondered if the discount supermarket will launch the service to compete with other retailers.

But an Aldi Australia spokesperson told FEMAIL the company is prioritising other services for now.

'While we are always looking at the best ways to serve our customers, right now we are focused on delivering value and the lowest prices possible at a time our customers need it most,' the spokesperson said.

This is Aldi's twelfth win since Canstar's Supermarket Satisfaction Ratings began in 2011

'We won't compromise our ability to deliver low-priced groceries to Australians.'

For now, customers can still keep up to date with Aldi's 'Special Buys' and deals on the website - but an online delivery service remains unavailable.

Earlier this year Aldi started offering a new service to Australian customers amid the cost of living crisis - and it has nothing to do with the supermarket.

The supermarket giant launched Aldi Insurance offering home and contents, comprehensive car and landlord's insurance policies.

Aldi are good but they don't have the variety of goods so
I end up having to go to Coles or Woolies as well -
to get what I want.

It's always been shop at Aldi first and then Colesworth if you're desperate.  But now with Costco, while it requires a bit more planning, initial outlay and the ability to store bulk purchases, there is at least a little more choice to try and avoid being spit-roasted by Colesworth.

Stock levels at Aldi are also not reliable and regular items disappear for long periods of time, then re-appear.

I suspect this is a strategy to make you go back to the more often.

And while we're at it, Coles and Woolies don't price gouge, only morons think they do.

If you can, go in with some friends and buy direct from a meat dealer.  You need to buy in bulk and either need to share it around multiple people/families, or have a freezer to store it.

Glen Hills Pastoral Pty Ltd $1,010
Weaner Steers: GB & KG Richards $1,130
J & J Brook $1,030

CA & SM Wyatt $1,220
C & K Lawson $930
Feeder Heifers: Marbordo Pty Ltd $900
Weaner Heifers: GB & KG Richards $700

steers are going for about 1400 at the moment bobby. thats about $3 per kilo.

a 600 kg beast yields about 250 kg of meat

so thats about $1400 for 250 kg or just under 6 bucks a kilo (is what the farmer gets).

thats an above average price but as you can see , plenty of profit for the retailer

It takes me about 15 minutes to drive all the way over to Aldi on Lower Dawson Road. Until the store in the Stocklands complex is finished, I will continue to shop at either Coles or Woolworths.

Aldi is REALLY good for some stuff, their greek yoghurt is cheap and as good as the best name brand. They have lots of cheeses that are pretty good and their Australian olive oil is made by the same producer of cobram estate.

I buy Aldi 2 star mince for my dog Smiley
