Yeah... The sun sets so early these days, so doing a load of washing after work doesn't finish until after dark.

What can you do.

The things I'd change when I eventually get solar.

I've been holding out for better quality battery storage...

I've tried to setup as much home automation as possible, but for the least budget, so it's entirely DIY.

Would be fun to set everything up to detect peak power generation and trigger things to start then, like the dishwasher or washing machine etc.

Well, I am home so see no need to automate. Be fun tho to set up a neat system—the opposite of DIY for me!

I bought a dishwasher from my niece for $300. More to help my niece financially than anything but I should use it since I bloody hate doing dishes. So futile—you only wash them to get them dirty again!

In summer the distance between washing and hanging out needs to be kept short or you have to reboot it!

Paper plates are a dream Monk!! And takeaway can be healthy and cost effective as well -- very tasty.

It was using the warmth of the car, whilst keeping an eye out for a rat that runs around under the house. The rat has gotten so large that the cat no longer tries to take it on.
