Lunch!
Mar 28th, 2024 at 3:07pm

Today lunch was a dozen oysters.

Tomorrow lunch will be a small crayfish with a side salad.

Saturday lunch will be Thai fish cakes.

Sunday lunch will be salmon.

Monday lunch will be wagyu rump steak

Gee—was I Catholic earlier? I don’t worry about what to eat Fridays and there is no longer an obligation on Catholics about avoiding meat on Friday but somehow Good Friday brings up the old Fish on Friday crap.

I am a very lapsed Catholic and an atheist.

Heh, my lapsed Catholic mother had her funeral service in a former Catholic chapel, a lapsed Catholic chapel.  Smiley

The road kill is quite classy in Monk's village.

I do confess to having seen in the distant past swarms of small crabs running across roads in Asia.

With so much luxurious road kill this could explain why Tasmanians have two heads.

Please don't thank me. Effusive fawning and obeisance of disciples, mendicants, and foot-kissers embarrass me.

Mmm, nice lunch.

Had some garlic prawns myself, with Thai rice & sesame oil.

The lobster was nice. Cost me $70 but I had been wanting lobster/crayfish for some time.

These lunches are my dinner too—I seem to only need 2 meals, breakfast and lunch/dinner. I decided to make the big meal early in the afternoon because then I still had the energy and not too much joint pain and could make a nice meal.

I don't know why anyone would spend that amount of money on lobster. I buy half a kilo of prawns for about $25/kg -- $33/kg advertised recently. I feel ripped off having a one-off meal of those every so often.

Cray has a lovely clean flavor. Prawns, not so much.

Don’t mind a prawn or two on a pizza. . .
