The latest update about this stabbing spree is that the male was 40y/old Joel Cauchi from Queensland and he was of questionable mental ability

The Police claimed he was known to them, but couldn't immediately identify him - huh!

Reports say that 5 females and 1 male lost their lives in this attack. One of the females, a mother, handed her baby to a male shopper as she was bleeding profusely from a stab wound. She later died in hospital

Male and female charged for shooting at a male and robbing and assaulting him. He was just walking along a street when he got shot at

"A number of personal belongings were then stolen from the 32-year-old man"

"He was taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries."

"Just after 8pm on Friday, 12 April 2024 police attended a residence on Bell Drive to conduct a welfare check," WA Police said in an earlier statement"

Disability service fined $1.8m after woman dies from burns suffered during bath

"One of her carers ran a bath at her family's home on February 2 and checked the water with her hand, believing it was "fine"

"Her skin was peeling when she was removed from the steaming bath and a control panel showed the water temperature was 60C, rather than the usual maximum setting of 42C."

Wow! So they began the tap and ran a hand under it while it was 'warming up' and ...well, they either stuffed up big time or turning their back on her, came back not realising she's (dementia?) turned the taps herself more so and boiled herself?
Regardless - they made the mistake of leaving her and not checking the water.

Dementia and other patients - you only have to turn away for a moment and they'll pull their canula's out, nasal tubes and whatever else they can get away with... all of which compromises your job.

I believe though - that if 'volunteers' are sought to look after people, because they won't pay/can't pay for 'professionals' - then Volunteers should not be held accountable for lawsuits.

Where did you read that? It's not in the news report

No its not.
But from my personal experience of looking after people.
Some with Dementia have the habit of turning the taps when they think you're not watching and even when they know you are.

She was probably slapped around till she gave up the whereabouts of where she had hidden them, etc. Something more about this than the usual 'random' house burglary. Still, not good.
