When Did Bodybuilders Start Using Steroids?

A deep dive into the early history, discovery and use of steroids.
Specifically we attempt to figure out whether Silver Era bodybuilders were still natural.
Steve Reeves, John Grimek, George Eiferman, Clancy Ross, Reg Park, Alan Stephan,
Jack Dellinger, John Farbotnik, Roy Hilligen and
others were all phenomenal bodybuilders from the 1940s and early 1950s.
Is it possible that they used something?
Was testosterone available to them?

The gym junkies at the CQU gym did not look like steroid users at all. And why would they use steroids? Natural body building is so much healthier. My friend's husband looks like he is a constant user of steroids, for his competition. But, I think even the gym junkies at the university could give that guy a run for his money.

What she achieved is not the result of using drugs or performance enhancers.

I had to look up the name to see to whom you were referring. Then it became obvious that you had posted his picture up without using his name. Very few guys know the name of many male bodybuilders. Why you would know the name Phil Heath and act like other people would know his name, it comes down to speculation.

I have no desire to look as muscular as Heath. If I get to a point where I am as physically fit as a triathlete, that would do me okay. But, given my advancing age, I would settle for being physically healthy.
