On 17 March 2022, after reporting......on mortality rates among children, the CDC corrected a “coding logic error”......
A total of 72,277 deaths in all age groups reported......was
removed from the tracker
.....because CDC’s algorithm was accidentally counting deaths......
The error was corrected by the CDC as soon as it was reported........
I liked data collection systems better, in the 'olden days' .....when the data was simply >> examined << and collated - by
ACCOUNTABLE human individuals.
Whereas, today, 'someone' writes an algorithm....

REQUISITE transparency, when 'mistakes' in processing,
...whenever publication of the collated data
INADVERTENTLY EXPOSES those 'mistakes' in the coding ?

collate = = collect and combine (texts or information). compare and analyse (two or more sources of information).
criterion = = (pl. criteria /-rI@/) a principle or standard by which something may be judged or decided.
requisite = = a thing that is necessary for the achievement of a specified end..
THE COMMON MEANING OF WORDS.
Never neglect, the common meaning of the words, which those who have an influence upon your life, use.
Never allow those persons to readily pervert the meaning of common words, without being challenged.
IMO, this society, today, is full, to the brim, with PERVERTS.
