I know water vapour doesn't eat away the paint on a car.  Didn't they teach you anything in your 4 years at primary school?

The two wheels of the climate change cart – the scientifically unprovable words ‘catastrophic’ and ‘irreversible’ – that is carrying the democratic world to economic subjugation under a Putin-Xi authoritarian axis, are looking increasingly wobbly.

These two words, the key to the climate debate, have never been the subject of empirical, observed scientific proof. There is little disagreement that there is climate change; the climate has always been changing. But ‘catastrophic’ and ‘irreversible’ (beyond a computer-generated ‘tipping point’) that occupy the central role as drivers of the claimed climate crisis, exist only in computer modelling of what many scientists, in good faith, believe to be the likely outcome of observable current trends. The dogma that ‘the science is settled’ on climate change requires a belief not in proven scientific facts but in the accuracy of scientists’ computer projections of the yet-to-be-demonstrated future consequences of observable facts.

So why should these scientists be believed? The traditional ‘scientific method’ of examining a theory provides the best, but by no means certain, prospect of believable outcomes. This involves surviving the ‘falsification’ principle of rigorous endeavours to refute the theory, so that the scientific consensus eventually accepts it as truth. That is the rock on which the climate change crisis rests. But as an article in last week’s Conversation noted, ‘even if scientists have repeatedly tried, but failed, to refute a given theory, the history of science suggests at some point in the future it may still turn out to be false when new evidence comes to light.’

After decades of  steadily increasing support for the ‘climate crisis’ theory, evidence to the contrary is raising its head. This is in addition to the negative impact of repeated failures of a multitude of past official forecasts of impending climate disaster. Earlier this year, four leading Italian scientists from universities in Milan, Verona and Padua and the National Institute of Nuclear Physics, published a review of historical climate data, finding no clear positive trend of extreme events and concluding that the current fear of a ‘climate emergency’ is not supported by the scientific data.

Man made pollution is not AGW by CO2.

Probably metallic particulates or ash, which can be acidic under rainfall,
when combined with sulphur and nitrogen oxides.

WA flags years of coal imports as power station shuts down
Brad Thompson
Reporter
Oct 3, 2022 – 6.36pm

The West Australian government is facing a coal spply crisis and could follow South32’s lead and turn to Indonesia for imports of the fossil fuel.

A coal shortage in WA has forced the shutdown of a major power station supplying Perth and major towns from Geraldton to Albany, and increased the risk of outages at times of peak demand.

The WA government has flagged importing coal to meet what could become a prolonged shortfall in local supply, the issue behind state-owned Synergy shutting down the Collie Power Station.

WA energy minister Bill Johnston said Synergy could need to import coal over the next seven years.

“There may be occasions that Synergy needs to take emergency action to bring in small amounts of coal, whether that’s imported coal or there’s some other solution that’s up to Synergy,” he said.

Mr Johnston said on Monday that the WA government had given South32 its blessing to import coal from Indonesia to the port of Bunbury, where many of the thousands of workers at WA’s remaining coal mines and coal-fired power stations live.

He said the government was supporting South32’s imports because it wanted to protect jobs at the Worsley alumina refinery and local mines were unable to supply enough coal to meet all the company’s requirements.

The Australian Energy Market Operator, which co-ordinates power generation on what is known as the South West Interconnected Grid, listed Collie Power Station as a “forced outage” from mid-September.

The power station, supplied by Yancoal’s nearby Premier Coal mine, is not scheduled to re-open until January 1 in a state that suffered blackouts during a heat wave last summer.

Mr Johnston said the state’s coal industry is in a period of transition with Synergy planning to shut the Collie plant in 2027 and the state’s only other coal-fired power station, Muja, in 2029.

Interesting ... today we hear that China is going to burn MORE coal because its renewable power reserves are inadequate to keep the power on 24/7

Same problem in California re: renewables causing blackouts, same in Germany.

I wonder where we are heading?
